Well, he calls himself a bloody man so of all of them his actions were most in line with character, not that I agreed with them.

That whole sequence was ridiculous. Not one person, including Roger, uttered one word about the fact that he was going by Mackenzie instead of Wakefield. Just dumb.

Yeah that's what I recalled - that he immediately backed off. I liked that he revealed those feelings - who wouldn't feel at least a little bitter. Made him more real.

Tbh that's the nature of the books. A bunch of wonderfully written vignettes tied together with flimsy plot. Exactly your last statement.

And what was the accent? American accented British English? I get that having two English parents she wouldn't have the same accent other American kids but I couldn't quite catch what they were doing there.

Oh yeah I'd forgotten about that little gem about wanting to see Sam H. raped and tortured. o_O

And Claire stands there and lets her do it! So self righteous of these two, having lived comfy lives because of his sacrifice and standing there judging him like he hadn't sacrificed everything for the two of them. Yeah, that's my least favorite book of the series. Pretty sure it's book 4.

Yeah, I understood her behavior but didn't make it any less annoying. I especially hate how in one of the later books she (and Claire) try throw in Jamie's face that he's not,"daddy". I think it's that awful book 4, where the plot is centered on a miscommunication that could have been cleared up with one or two

Thats always the rationalization they make. I'm not on board with it. Anyone who watched eps 108 (Claire's attempted rape), 115 and 116, plus whatever episode where BJR attempted to rape Jenny already knows why Jamie would be in a rage at BJR touching or doing anything to Fergus. The show had already laid all the

She's kind of annoying in DiA, too. I do understand the shock at the revelation, but she too often comes off as petulant and bratty. That doesn't change much.

Yeah I agree with that. I know several. But I don't think they "hate women". I think they just have a very narrow view of a woman's role.

Yes. The nettles were ridiculous.

Between Fergus' explanation to,Claire, BJR's line about you'll do, Fergus' scream, and Jamie's rage, it was clear what was going on. The thrust wasn't necessary. We also already know the depths of BJR's depravity from multiple graphic scenes last season and that coupled with restraint here could have been very

Agreed. Also, I'm pretty sure this reviewer is a women so I'm not sure how she could hate women simply because she's had different experiences.

I wonder if that as intentional, designed to show her as being out of place in that time. She seemed awfully stiff and staid. She's far more natural in her interactions with Fergus.

I assumed he was still in Portugal, selling the wine or whatever he was supposed to have left to do last ep.

Precisely my thoughts. Having a miscarriage or stillbirth does not equate to "fertility problems".

In the podcast for 206, Matt Roberts confirmed that the beginning of the episode took place a day or two after the fight at the end of 205.

Agreed. Certainly not in the show canon. He saved her but he had no idea where she'd come from. We've been given nothing to suggest that.
