My tribe keeps sending our youngsters to college and law school using that good old casino money. More and more of us are going to run for office and become judges. Hopefully one of us will take Kavanaugh’s place.

Thanks again for reporting on this. BTW she is not the only Native woman running for congress: https://tinyurl.com/ycso3hv8 Deb Haaland is Laguna, which is my tribe.
If she was raised in Kansas, she is from Kansas. We natives (in my experience) will ask one another “where are you from,” meaning “who are your people?” If anyone who is not native asks that, we will tell you where we are actually from.
you’re not NDN, are you.....
And we Natives are tired of being promised things by politicians who need our vote, only for them to indian-give when the going gets tough because they REALLY don’t want to lose any White votes. I hate to say this, but for most Natives I know there is no such thing as a Red state or a Blue state. There is just one…
it’s been in their court.
So we’re all supposed to just shut up because god forbid one “innocent” rich white man’s life might be “destroyed” (read: slightly and temporarily altered) by a “false” accusation?
Right? And I say don’t let your abuser’s threats of legal action prevent you from speaking out if that is your desire.
I don’t think Democrats failed us. I think we have a system of laws, government, rules of procedure and evidence that no longer serve the common people. The ideals that ALL our politicians cling to are far, far too old to be effective anymore, as illustrated over the past 2 years or more.
I am sick of politicians worshipping at the altar of laws/rules/procedures based on legal traditions started by rich, white landowning men who lived 5oo+ years ago. Ideas about legal fairness, evidence, innocence and guilt were all created by and for anyone but women, people of color, the poor, and the LGBTQ community…
I am so sorry to hear about your friends. I however respectfully disagree that Blasey Ford’s efforts were for naught. This is just the beginning of the 3rd round of the fight.
“You don’t take what’s not yours and give it to somebody else.” The huge ranching dynasty the Reynolds family is from this area and many still live their or own land/mineral rights there.
We need more women in congress NOW.
oh I am so sorry.
Also, no one is absolved morally or legally for things done while blacked out. Ask all the people in jail. Most of them committed their crimes while under the influence.
So glad to come to the comments and see that most of you feel the way I do: this “protest” is bullshit.
you literally described my college experience.
Yeah that “I got into Yale Law so there is no way I drink too much” shit is laughable. I took the LSAT WASTED and scored well enough to get into 2 top 5 law schools. I graduated from my university with honors with a serious drinking and drug problem (no it wasn’t ADHD meds).
Please reach out to a professional as soon as you can. You don’t have to tell your family but you should talk to someone, even if it is just a crisis line. They can put you in touch with free services.
