Anyone my/Beto’s age who was punk back then has most likely conformed just slightly out of sheer necessity.

Gatekeeping-how progressive of you.
THIS DESERVES ALL THE STARS
We get it-SPLINTER IS AFRAID OF BETO. You can stop now.
This deserves no stars. When X sues Y for doing shit that is legally actionable, Y doesn’t get to counter with paternalist crap like “well if X wins this suit she won’t know what to do with the money and it will ruin her.” Y just has to pay.
This is such a major win for everyone who’s not Bezos.
right? Because she looks my age (40s), which means she most certainly has been fully vaccinated.
“you must have that baby, then let it die of horrible diseases for which there are vaccines”
I’m afraid that we’re going to have to continue listening to non-natives moan about how their tired of hearing about our issues.
She didn’t claim Native American heritage on that form. She claimed that her race was Native American. To me there is a big difference. My white mother and her family have always known that they have Native American heritage, closer in lineage than Warren’s ancestor.
Are you Native, tribally or culturally? Because if you’re not you don’t get to say what “this was about” for us Natives. Even if you ARE Native, I don’t think you get to decide what “this was about” for the rest of us. Every single NDN in my huge ass family thinks she is an idiot.
THIS. #MeToo happened, we all realized we were sick of getting ogled, and designers obliged us with dresses they had all seen their moms wear.
It was at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. They did a great job with the contextualization. From what I read in the NYT art section, context is the newer wave in art exhibitions.
Did you read the NYT article? Because it wasn’t just about her unibrow and her lipstick. The article did mention her crippling injuries, and how she worked through those injuries and dressed to cover them.
thanks for your take on this article.
THIS.
This Native girl loves prairie dresses. Always has, always will. Got married in a Gunne Sax prairie dress. Wore one for my 8th grade class photo.
Please stop defending him in any way shape or form. There are no mitigating circumstances with child molestation. He was a scumbag predator whose deeds rest solely on his own shoulders. Of course he had help-but no one was forcing him to destroy these boys’ lives.
Nobody created this villain, there is no false narrative, and there is no manufactured outrage. I’m guessing you think it’s manufactured because you believe that the people that are outraged (we Natives) don’t matter? I don’t know-I’m asking.
The only thing that’s keeping me from hurling my red ass into space right now is the displeased half-smile on S Guthrie’s face (I’m going to assume for sanity’s sake that she was assigned this shitshow of an interview) and the support of non-native allies.
