I remember - my twin sister was super smart, she could do solve differentials in her head, she could recite log values at a moment's notice, but they refused to let her into math society bc of the same 'limited seats' thing.
Oh hell

Did any POC jezzies go through the thing in high school where the teacher would NEVER pick you to answer or to participate in out of school events?
It's funny, I seem to have the exact opposite experience. I work with teens too, on the weekends, mostly teaching English and History to about a group of 50 at 826 National and all of them are delightful and definitely a lot more progressive than the kids I grew up with & went to college with.
Yeah I think I get what you're saying. I was just getting a line in bc I just can't with most of the commenters slamming kids who are like what - 12 to 25? who are trying to deal with the economy, insane levels of competition & internet age paranoia. I feel like opinions on sex would be more progressive now - in 2015,…
hm, I probably didn't feel this bc I was in India till I was 15. I did spend a couple of years in Texas when I first came here (one block down from a KKK office) & then moved to NYC. I had generally more positive experiences with the younger generations as opposed to Gen X (again, such a vast generalization) personal…
The sheer amount of fear that is being instilled in them is horrible. They are under a lot more pressure than we were. Straight a's, a hundred extra curriculars, i.e they're being pressured to prepare for applying to colleges from middle school itself. It really isn't on them though, is it?
was that why there was an i.e?
the "human race sucks ass" that ought to have covered it was negated by the "as the oppressed begin to escape their oppression"
depends on if you think their relationship is a money deal or bc their genuinely in love
Were the hippies really that substantial in number, though? Being born into an era vs being raised in an era would also factor in.
I'm born in the 80s but do you not see that people born in the 90s are having a much harder time with academics, college, jobs, prospects? It's a shitshow for the 80s kids too but super scary for someone born in the 90's. Most teen kids (middle class, poor) literally have to fight tooth and nail for every bit of…
yeah, literally "as the oppressed begin to escape" ...NO. jamie foxx is an idiot, but didn't a bunch of famous white people joke about this too. did white supremacy come up when that happened? this is making it sound like he is being transphobic BECAUSE he is black
yeah but they're Kardashians, the media will be talking about this till North grows up at least. I actually think if Kanye does have another kid, it would be worse on that poor child than North.
Yeah but would she care about losing some x percentage of Kanye's fortune more than she did about what it would do to her family? No. I know it's ok to be a dick to her around here but still.
wouldn't the same study conducted on Gen X be worse tho
or you know, she actually didn't say it & this is inaccurate.Kim obv loves North, and she would care about this in a non-money related way
