I've worked with children that age who have said similar or worse things. It's awful. You want them to stop and you also want them not to have experienced whatever they may have experienced to get to that point.

"I want to slit your throat and watch you bleed"

OMG, pubic schools. Sorry.

When I was in 3rd grade or so, I was on the playground at school minding my own business during recess when THREE boys came up to me and started hassling me. Two of them grabbed my arms and wouldn't let me move and the third was telling me about how he was going to punch me, so I kicked him right in the crotch. I

Have you seen recess at public elementary schools recently? At my local one, there are EASILY 60-75 children on the playground and field area at any given time. All it takes is a monitor turning around for a second or two.

If these allegations are true, counseling may be a much better course of action than expulsion.

I do want to point out that its actually hard to get a restraining order. The father MUST have had some solid evidence that this was in fact happening to get that order in the first place.. Also, The kid is 5.. This is learned behavior.. He learned those words and the meaning of them somewhere.. My first guess is at

I was thinking the same thing! Where does a five-year-old even get the vocabulary to say that stuff?!?!

While I agree the child needs counselling, it needs to be far, far away from the children he has bullied. He needs to be out of the classroom where he is terrifying his victims. He may only be 5, but so is the girl he threatened.

That's what I was thinking: when is this kid going to start setting cats on fire...people buried in the yard is up next.

I hope CPS gets involved, because there is no way that kid has a healthy home life. Bullying is one thing, death threats are a sign that he needs help.

Yeahhhh, that child definitely needs counseling. A lot of it. This might be an early sign of a sociopath. I know kids can be cruel, but a child saying they'll slit someone's throat is pretty fucking serious. Oh, and not the least bit surprised that the school did nothing about this. You rarely hear stories about

I would imagine keeping your relationship, and essentially who you are, a secret is a HUGE emotional burden. Like the writer said we dont know their situation so we can't just say "STOP LIVING A LIE" but I think if this girl were to have a therapist and a safe space to work through those issues it would go a long way.

1. You're too young to get engaged. Knock it off.

This really couldn't have been any better. Cristina made it okay to not want children, & to unapologetically have goals and stop at nothing to reach them. I've been "over" this show for a while, but I've yet to quit on it - one of the biggest reasons being Sandra Oh's beautiful acting. I'm not sure I can remember a

Acknowledging female biology is not by default TERFy or transmisogynist. Particularly when there is so much shame and misinformation surrounding the female body.

What's the point of reddit anyway? From what I've heard, it's just breeding ground for neckbeards and MRAs.

I'm a phi - I ignore the orders of others. I go my own way without getting involved in their petty power plays. Ho hum.

ugh first you guys stole nerddom and now you're stealing our MRA vocabulary?

How to tell you're better than people: you don't try to find a fictional human hierarchy to explain the world and how you interact with it.
