White Jesus had time that day.

These idiots are oblivious to the fact that every time they rain death threats upon someone over a mere t-shirt they’re reiterating why the Movement for Black Lives needs to exist.

Pigs in Space is one of my favorite Muppet Show skits.

Now playing

I remember seeing multiple videos of him indiscriminately kissing women whenever he was a guest on any kind of talk show or awards show. This particular video with Kym Whitley always comes to mind. After I saw him do stuff like this multiple times, I was like “Nah, I’m good.”

I went to a music college and I remember watching this movie in one of my classes as an example of the career trajectory of musicians who become successful. Still one of my all-time favorites. Just reading about it makes me want to go watch it again.

No matter how much some meeting organizers try to guilt or shame participants into turning on their cameras, I always pass. I’ve only turned my camera on once since I’ve been working from home, and that was for my interim review. I’ll probably have to do the same for my year-end review, but any other time, they have

Months late and 150,000+ lives short.

I’ve always said that “normal” is what the majority of people are doing or saying at any given time, which, of course, changes very quickly. The mercurial nature of “normality” makes it pretty much impossible to emulate. Unfortunately, many people feel a lot of pressure to “be like everyone else”. They believe it’ll

Perhaps the biggest help that a white person can provide is speaking up whenever you see racism—even if Black people aren’t around. Especially if Black people aren’t around.

I grew up in the Deep South as well, Georgia, and my family still lives there. I don’t think “The Talk” was ever on my parents’ radar.

My parents never gave me or my brothers “The Talk”. My observations while growing up in the 80s and part of the 90s in the rural South taught me exactly how I was viewed by white America, and the dangers associated with it. I lived in a predominately white area and was the only black kid in my grade from kindergarten
