I don’t think his response was predicated on surprise about white people being racist. I think he’s surprised that a Black Lives Matter protest would take place in Bethel. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that Chief Teague is surprised by the racists in his state.

A number of the white women my younger brother has dated have been racist. The fact that they were boning a brotha didn’t change that fact. More than once those bitches fixed their mouths to call him the N word.

One of the most hopeful ways to eliminate discrimination is to simply believe that our children are less racist than their forefathers. We love to believe that each generation is less racist than the one that preceded them.

I grew up in rural NE Georgia and have seen many a woman who looks like that.

They’re big and bad enough to kill unarmed black men and women for the flimsiest of excuses, but they can’t take the heat of the rightful criticism they’re getting for those unwarranted deaths? Too bad, so sad. We’re not going to absolve them of this shit. 

Love this song! I feel like they shot the videos for Word Up and Candy on the same day. They probably figured it would be a shame not to feature such a fetching codpiece in more than one video.

I read about this earlier today. As someone who describes myself as a “word person”, I’m glad that a definitive compiler of words and their meanings actually listened and acted appropriately.
