You must really hate war films by that logic. I’d argue it’s not an easy plot element, because you need to attack it from a different perspective and try to be “character realistic” as possible. Whereas writing for a completely fictional character is much easier.

I can’t wait to see “Climax”. I think Noe is a legit daring film maker and the reviews make this out to be one of his best. As you’ve apparently seen it, how would you rate it compared to his other work?

I can’t wait to see Knives Out. As a huge fan of films like “The Last of Sheila” (which I understand the director loves and is a huge influence) I’m getting the vibe it’s going to be awesome

As someone who legit hates feet, that’s the one gripe of yours I do agree with.

My nitpick - I don’t get the love for “Hustlers”. It’s okay (and the women look great which I, as a sexist pig enjoy) but J-Lo as some super thespian? That it’s this huge statement film about women turning the tables on the (admittedly) douche bag Stock-Bros who helped crash our economy?

It’s like he’s never been on a AV Club board before!

You’re entitled to your very, very wrong opinion.

I think the whole film is actually a ‘fairy tale’ about Hollywood. The way the title comes up after SPOILERS the end with Sharon Tate inviting Rick in to talk (which he wanted so he could move on and get better roles) is meant to emulate the “Once Upon a Time in the West” narrative in that it’s a legend about

I’d switch 1 and 2 (for starters, I think that Pacino was better in Once Upon a Time than the Irishman) but otherwise I generally agree with this list. I didn’t want to like “A Marriage Story” but credit where credit is due: the film is a masterpiece and genuinely moving.

It’s (Once Upon a Time) is so much better than I thought after the re-watch. There’s a lot going on in it, and to me it felt like Tarantino’s most mature film to date. Gone are all the pop culture references from characters, and instead it’s a look at when time has passed you by (for Rick and Cliff). Margot Robbie

It’s amazing how much better of a show “American Dad” is to “Family Guy”.

I’m going to go with the season finale of The Righteous Gemstones.

Oh man, great call! I loved that episode.

There’s definitely a few, but I stand by majority being terrible.

I don’t think any tone by the writer could make this a friendly and non angry discussion. That’s what happens when folks overly invest in Spandex Movies :)

I don’t disagree with that. There was so much terrible TV (albeit in the Ed Wood way that I enjoy watching it...and nostalgia) that quality stuff still stands out.

I remember the third season on: my parents would let me stay up and watch it. Also Star Trek re-runs that would come on WPIX now that I think about it...

Fantastic Planet was huge to me when I caught it off Night Flight as a kid, but I was also admittedly around 11, 12. Whereas that damn “Mouse and His Child” I saw at five and it horrified me.

The Titans look dangerous to me: can run the ball, QB who doesn’t make mistakes and is on a hot streak and a pretty good D. Whereas the Texans...no idea what the hell is going on there after seeing the Broncos blow them out.

RIP. I remember first seeing him in the Jan Michael Vincent B film “Defiance” and then in “Once Upon a Time in America. A great character actor who was legit good in almost everything he appeared in.
