Actually I think it could be interesting where the "Ninjas" as they're depicted these days could be the Templars and the assassin is more like an actual ninja: works the fields, lives in the village, and completely blends in while gathering information and assassinating targets to get to some feudal lord.

It is ridiculous, but in a good way. I'd play the hell out of a game that had that as its story. Heck, done right and you could totally build a full game out of it; like Brutal Legend, but without the RTS elements!

Not just essentials. 360 copies an image of the disc onto the hard drive. When you put the game into the disc tray it checks the game. Once you're actually playing the drive doesn't do anything at all.
