Sanyo 8100. Got it towards the end of 2003 after I had joined the army. It actually did internet browsing (was terrible on anything but mobile sites at the time), but I figured out how to tether that thing to my laptop with a USB cable. The laptop didn't power the phone so it also had to be plugged in. I had to have

I think the problem they have with most of these phones is that you have to pay for the phone along with getting a contract when you can get a phone that can do things besides making calls for the same price or free.

This article should have just been one word:

That's exactly what I was saying to some friends of mine. You could have an online mode that could do both single-player and multiplayer and an offline mode that could do either single player or LAN. I don't think the coding would be too difficult for that if they had implemented it at the beginning.

addendum: doesn't work on android. tried on ICS with both my tablet (transformer TF301) and phone (galaxy nexus) and on both the stock browser and chrome beta the app complains about not having "flash 11" and doesn't load.

I think I've been looking at too much Lifehacker & Gizmodo recently. I just thought the more appropriate Gawker title for this post should've been "Now there's a way to play Jetpack Joyride on Android (and it's not a knock-off)."

Sadly, I need to learn Java now because the school I'm transferring to in the fall uses Java for most, if not all, of its programming classes. -_- But thanks for the tips, I'll definitely be keeping them on hand.

Agreed. I think the biggest thing that people worry about is the level of customization you can make to android screens compared to just a bunch of icons for ios.

So...it's still the same price, you need to go to the store to purchase the game, AND take the time to download the game, probably at home.

Don't forget the other point of digital downloads is that YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE STORE.

I like the idea of the note, but the thing is a slight bit too big for carrying around in my pocket.

I'd like to make myself into a programmer that can build games/engines. Right now I'm taking C++ and am going to start looking at Java over the summer. Thanks for the tips on the other tools. I had thought about looking at 3d stuff like maya or 3ds max, but it seemed to be a bit more than I have time to learn at the

I've completed one story (Emi) and playing through what looks to be a Rin story. I had figured out the spoiler of Emi's story pretty early into the story, but still felt like it was written really well. I haven't been playing with the music on so didn't get to hear it myself. Overall I've liked it and I've generally

While I have my own opinions of what I find fun and not so much in a game, I'm not very good at creating the initial ideas stage of things. I'm more of a give me something and I'll make it work, but more with programming and building instead of visual art. What would be the best tech knowledge (program language(s),

I work at a Target as well and I'd take it with a grain of salt. While it having a specific date is a good thing, meaning they probably got it from somewhere, I wouldn't say it's 100% accurate. I've seen cards that were put out way in advance of the actual game. My girlfriend picked up a card a few months ago for

Assuming you own a decent printer, I'm pretty sure you can find a scan of the slip online...

Way back when I first set up my email on hotmail (98 or so?) my first choice was Sonic (as in sonic the hedgehog). It was already taken or something so through the magic of the name generator they had, I ended up with super_sonic_68 . Something happened (don't remember the details, think I just forgot the password and

While the button config looks right for a SATURN controller (ie: megadrive controller with 6 face buttons & shoulder button on each side), the shape's all wrong. plus if you see the last pic there looks to be some toggle switches along the bottom of the controller, so it's probably some old PC gaming pad.

That is a great comment, worthy of promoting! which is now done. =)
