It’s weird to see Zelda being referred as if it was not already an action-RPG. And even weirder saying Secret of Mana is a game you play with “two AI companions” and completely ignoring the best part of the game: three-player local co-op.

Was really interested when I read about Eclipse: a narrative focused Star Wars by Quantic Dreams sounds *amazing*! And then got instantly disappointed by the news that it won’t be that. Way too many “action focused” and “open world” games around, a bit of diversity wouldn't hurt.

I’m the exact opposite: we already had Star Wars RTSs, it could be great to have a new take with tactical, turn-based combat.

It looks like a really great game and I’m sure I’ll try it sometime in the future, but, c’mon: even in the trailers the developers call it an action-RPG, it’s clearly not a metroidvania.

As I said above, “no matter the level of snark”.

“Creators of ‘so bad, they’re bad’ games”? Heavy Rain, a bad game? It was a huge success back in 2010, as it’s 87 score on metacritic supports. Indigo Prophecy, back in 2005 was another great game, also supported by an 85 score on Metacritic. Yes, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit weren’t appraised as high as the former

It’s sad they consider Phantasy Star to be an “active IP”. Those online games don’t share much with the old RPGs, and those are the ones I wanted them to ressurrect.

I appreciate the different perspective, but I now know enough to be aware of Luke’s reviews of boardgames, as they vastly differ from my take and tastes. While Luke sings praises of Scythe, I find it inane. While he calls Game of Throne: The Board Game “great” and “all-time classic” I believe it to be one of the worst

When I had about 20% left to finish Persona 5, I put the game away for almost two years. I was six months away from my PhD thesis deposit and had to fully dedicate myself to it. I paused all my social media profiles, cleaned my PC of any games and lockedaway my consoles.

After that I had to move to the other side of

The correct answer is “Shadow of the Colossus” - and yes, without any more specifics.

Wow! DOTA, really? The gameplay may be nice (some people like it a lot and that’s fine), but DOTA has one of the most generic and unoriginal set of characters/scenario in gaming.

Wasn’t aware of this new animation, but I find it extremely sad that they decided to go this way. The whole world loses something with this decision to use CG.

It’s a game from the same makers of Bastion, Pyre and Transistor, that’s reason enough to give it a try.

Lots of people here in the comments saying they would love remakes of the series... and I would too, actually. But my dream really is to have a new, real, Phantasy Star game (yeah, those online games have their merits, but they’re not trully Phantasy Star games, they just share the name). It could be Phantasy Star V,

Yeah, the translated to pt-BR versions os Phantasy Star were a great deal here in Brazil. The first one, for Master System, was my first RPG ever and it literally changed my life (and I’m using “literally” here the way it should be used).

I consider a huge oversight not mentioning Saturn’s japanese controller

Breath of the Wild “empty world and terrible performance”? I guess we played two very different Breath of the Wilds...

Early adopters always get the short end of the stick, and we know that the comtemporary standard is for slim versions or revisions of every console being released about two or three years after the original launch. To me, that’s the time to get into a new platform - and there’s the bonus of getting a larger and more

I have to disagree with your premise here, Luke. Yes, Nintendo droped of the arms race a long time ago, that is true, but they didn’t “bailed on console generations”. Actually, they started the 9th generation with the Switch years before Sony and Microsoft. You just have to look and the whole history, instead of the

I know you already got a load of answers, but let me add: oh so many! Wii is my all time favorite console (and I’ve been gaming since the first console generation, with the Ford-Philco Telejogo). What some call “gimmick”, I call some of the best features of the gamming history - and certainly some of my best memories
