Given the amount of shit they’re had to put up with, it’s remarkable they’re still here.

It was the smart move to push Trump to run, because it should have been impossible for Trump to get elected. Not even the worst cynic expected how much the American people would respond to appeals to racism and hatred.

Most of the “good things” humanity has done (eliminate child labor, 40 hour week, seat belts, clean air and water) have been done over the objections of corporations, which claimed at every juncture that protecting humans or the environment would BANKRUPT them. Every. Single. Time.

It’s no coincidence that when we went to the moon and defeated smallpox, we taxed the rich much more than we do now.

This same administration is going to spend millions forcing states which legalized dope to unlegalize it again.

“The Insurance Company and For Profit Hospital Chain Rescue Act of 2017"

Our children did. There was video on here yesterday of a Trump supporter saying he’d “have to look into why Obama abandoned New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.” Dudes like that have the vote. Adult children.

We could have had single payer, which would have meant affordability and accountability. Guess why we didn’t.

“if we start mandating a single-payer system it will result in ever-increasing costs “

No, dipshit. When there’s single payer, that means it’s a pool of 300 million negotiating for services. That means you can drive down the prices of procedures and drugs to, well, what they are in Europe and Canada. Often THOUSANDS of times less than we pay in the US. It’s EXACTLY what you’d do to minimize lining

Something doesn’t have to be in the Constitution for it to become legislation. That’s why we have legislation, bozo. I assume you have no health insurance, no car insurance, no life insurance, no home insurance, because those are all Communist ideas not present in our Constitution.

If you add up federal, state, FICA taxes, AND the cost of healthcare (suppose you’re a family of five — it’s A LOT), yes YOU ARE paying 40%. Those countries have almost FREE college education, too, so they have MORE money left over than we do after those things are taken into consideration. God you’re dumb.

Those countries pay MUST LESS for healthcare than we do, and get MUCH BETTER CARE, dipshit.

Yo dumbass: 1) the vast majority of health dollars are spent on the elderly for end of life care, not “unhealthy dipshits with DUIs”, and 2) the next biggest bite is major procedures like cancer, hip replacements, orthopedic surgery (spine fusion). Stuff that middle aged healthy people get. Those procedures, all of

NONE OF US CAN PAY FOR HEALTHCARE. Beyond the most trivial procedure, any of us would be bankrupted by foreseeable medical costs. My wife’s cancer cost several million dollars.

LessCare?

We’re not fostering “competition” with this Republican plan. The proven way to reduce health care costs is to improve the bargaining position of a pool of insured. The best way to do that is to have a gigantic pool. The way to do that is SINGLE PAYER, where all 300 million of us are in one pool.

Our legislators are bought and paid for by large corporations including massive for profit hospital complexes and pharmaceutical companies. We forbid our own government from negotiating lower drug prices from pharmaceutical companies. Because in America, the Republican party is in the pay of business.

Guess who has the highest per capita cost ... by a huge margin...

Negotiating much more reasonable prices for procedures and prescriptions would cut that $2 trillion by up to 50%. Compare the cost of procedures in the US vs France or Germany.
