I read that article, and I agree with it, but you know that the biggest problem is the litigation arising from antibiotic and vaccine development, not the FDA. The government should have changed the regulations decades ago to encourage development of antibiotics, vaccines, and orphan drugs.

I work in oncology for a pharmaceutical company. Getting the data for the submission takes the time and money; working with them has not been the most frustrating part of the process.
