Vikings has loads of historical inaccuracies, starting with the title. I find it odd that as viewers we fixate on colour-blind casting as a particular spot of bother, but not on other inaccuracies even when they are more outrageous and fantastical.

No joke, this quote made me cry.
Then I looked up Nate Parker (unfamiliar with his previous work) only to find that he was once acquitted of rape on the grounds that the alleged victim had had consensual sex the day before...?? what?
And now I don’t know how to feel. Except of course that Gabrelle Union is amazing and…
Not to mention, the advert says: “I do not think we will have much money available for pay...” IDK about your experiences but in my experiences, it’s women who are willing (reluctantly) to worth for peanuts or nothing, even in a field where unpaid “internships” are the norm. Publicity stunt my arse.
I feel really proud of myself for recognising this as sarcasm through my hormones and white-hot lady tears.
(Yeah and here is the part where I explain that I’m a woman, despite the username.)
THANK YOU for posting the video with Misty Copeland.
I thought of her as soon as I read the title.
People with poor boundaries tend to take benign comments personally, reading insult where there is none.
If, instead of having poor boundaries, you are just an unusually sensitive person, you might reconsider what you choose to share on the internet knowing that others might respond with suggestions that you seek help…
The fact that you took that as a personal insult and not at face value tells me you could still use a refresher course on boundaries. (And yes, I meant it as a statement of support.)
Ugh, that guy is the WORST. I wonder if they even ended up together.
“(which I now think was to control my answer - like proposing in public)“
I have been trying for YEARS to figure out why public proposals of marriage gross me out, and THIS. THIS. You NAILED it.
ETA: I’m sorry that happened to you. :/
That sounds absolutely terrifying. I am so sorry you had that experience.
JFC! Your poor mum. And you. :(
Sounds like you could use a refresher course on how to set boundaries, and how to respect other’s boundaries. I hope you find the support you need to learn these skills.
We can’t win. :/
ETA: Oh but also: we can! :)
Hilary’s chances are still much better than Bernie’s, even if she does underperform in the early states.
With repeated, uncontrolled exposure to the allergen, almost any food allergy that begins as minor can end up as major. This is why peanut allergies (the worst of the worst) are so scary. A person can have an extremely minor reaction to peanuts once, but anaphylaxis on the very next exposure. That’s why doctors…
You wrote: “I have a co-worker whose list food allergies fit on an index card, and I don’t believe any of them (except maybe Rosemary). Who is really allergic to gluten, soy, dairy, many fruits, and almost everything else on the planet all at once? And only suddenly upon obtaining puberty?”
If you’re skeptical, why…
Also, this “ZERO or ALWAYS” idea of yours is not how consent works.
Where do you live, a backwater?
Looking forward to buying these on clearance in a few months, as they look to have about the same popular appeal as Chima or Ninjutsu. (Not bad, but not great either.)
Agreed, and they’re not a “unitasking” tool at all. I use mine to turn roasts and lift/move hot, heavy foods as-needed. They work better for that function than tongs or big forks.
