I’m pretty poor myself, but visiting the cinema is one of my few luxuries and I’d hate to see the magic of the big screen replaced by day-and-date on-demand releases. I can’t afford a big screen TV and anything smaller really is a very poor second place to watching a film at a theatre. I can’t understand people who

Honestly, yeah, I tend to forget that she’s gone.

I haven’t missed her.....like at all!

According to Google, “Jameela” also means “Beautiful”. So her name means “Beautiful Beautiful”...

This is exactly why Jameela Jamil as Tahani is my favorite character (well...also I really like to look at her). How is she at the same time so annoying, and yet so sympathetic? It is acting wizardry.

Mindy’s moment of coke-inspired clarity was a moment of true selflessness, and none of Tahani’s gestures ever were.

Ted Danson’s line about the Jags never winning the super bowl was hilarious, cruel, and accurate. I loved all of it, and his delivery.

I’m not looking forward to even more of Chidi’s ethics lessons — they were the draggiest parts of Season 1. Chidi’s the Wet Blanket, not the focus.

I do have to say, though, that I’m pretty tired of Jason already. I don’t need him to be smarter, but none of his dumbness is funny. There’s gotta be something more creative there with his lines. More than anything I feel like he just is kind of in the way in episodes.

I’m looking forward to Michael and Eleanor being on the same team - the quick look between them when Vicky started singing sold me completely. This episode felt like a lot of set up, but I guess every week can’t end on a ‘what?!’ note.

Oooooh, Michael’s on Team Cockroach.

I dream of a grumpy contrarian being self-aware enough to create an account called “fun at parties” .

I’m just gonna say this because I’m sick of this new AVClub website looking ugly and stuff. This website is AVClub’s Bad Place. This comment section that isn’t Disqus? It’s the Bad Place. Take us back to before where it’s all bright and shiny.

Did you ignore the sentence leading up to that? It wasn’t about the humor, it was about the emotional, human stuff being gone. And regardless of what you think about how funny the later seasons were, the show definitely still cared about the characters and could pull off an emotional reaction.

“Oh no, that was my only copy!”

Prediction thread!

This show is absolutely brilliant. Can we convince Mike Schur to run for president? If his ideas for the country are half as good as his ideas for TV shows, we can’t lose.

Okay, the more I think about it, the more this all being a punishment for michael makes sense. The Good Place (the neighborhood, not The Good Place the show) has failed so many times because it’s fundamentally unsound. It has a fatal flaw that cannot be countered, the fact that there’s a pain threshold. At some point,

My guess is sean already knows this failed and figures that Michael’s best punishment is to spend eternity trying to make it work

That was kind of astonishing. I’ve never seen a show get laughs from blowing up its own premise repeatedly, then getting even bigger laughs from accelerating through multiple blow-ups of its own premise. I am genuinely kind of in awe at the nerve it takes to do something this out there this early in the season.
