Thanks for reminding me of Eliza! I gotta play that one.

Thank you so much for highlighting this guy - I’d never have encountered him otherwise. Folks like this give me hope.

*hand raised*

I’m not holding my breath but it would be nice. I’m picking up the Switch version regardless, as it’s the RPG of the generation for me (yes, including the masterful Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn). Thank goodness we moved out of those late ‘00s doldrums.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but Dragon Quest XI: S has been one of my most anticipated games of the year since I downloaded the demo and confirmed that - yes - Square Enix had somehow perfectly translated the game to a less technically proficient platform. I look forward to replaying the main quest again, only

I’m so ready for Goose Game I can’t even tell you

I would support ActRaiser on Switch, as I’ve never played it! I’ve been hearing about it a lot the last few years, though, so maybe I should just throw it on my hacked SNES Classic.

My initial optimism regarding his growth based on recent news stories and this donation appears to have been hopelessly naive. What an asshole.

Like any industry that’s suffered through exposure following a long period of lax rules, getting the sunlight in is often the most painful part. Even so, as you said, we’ll be so much better for it in a decade’s time.

Good heavens, this is really bad stuff. Thanks for doing more of the excellent work that's characterized Kotaku's recent investigative output.

Glad to hear the donation news. This guy has inspired a lot of hateful people over the last half decade and it’s good to see him perhaps growing into a position where he can use his influence to pull those same people away from dangerous causes. Maybe that’s being too optimistic, but the last few news stories I’ve

Incredible piece of writing. Thanks for sharing!

I could see it having a strong appeal. I haven't played the game before but I'll likely pick it up to play portable on Switch.

So be it. Will not be supporting this dev in the future. Being empathetic and fighting hate speech is hardly censorship. What a drag.

Do you think genre labels are more helpful or harmful for the medium? What’s your favorite super-niche genre name you’ve either made up or encountered in the wild?

Most people I know who watch Dancing With The Stars lean left, so anecdotally I don’t think there's any connection between this piece of media and a political affiliation.

Thanks for writing this. There are a lot of gaps in the game development world, but Latin American developers are one of the least-represented voices. I’d love to see that change in the near future and get exposed to an entirely new set of experience heretofore marginalized in my favorite art medium.

Aside from the racism you noted, this is really pretty heartening. Good to see game enthusiasts harnessing a major communication channel for good rather than ill.

I agree wholeheartedly. The text feels almost too small in docked mode but it's barely legible in handheld. Fixing this would dramatically improve the game's playability among a wider audience. Recall how much more legible the larger text on FE's 3DS outings is.

That's great news! I had intended to make an 8-world game in Mario Maker (4 stage worlds) but decided to strip that down to 6 so I could still accommodate one-off experiments. Now I can make the full 8 world version. Hooray!
