What makes this extra weird to me is I feel like Sazh in FF13 was a relatively well-written and down to earth character.  He was never a caricature and just a single father trying his damndest to do what was best in a situation where he was in completely over his head.

On one hand I agree that we need to recognize that we are in control of our own reactions and, to some degree, we can determine how we choose to be affected by them.
