Make this recipe, but when you take them out at 25 minutes, don’t put them back in. There’s the applesauce you’ve always wanted for porkchops. You can throw a bit of minced herbs in there, too, if you want to be fancy about things.

Blackouts do indeed make hangovers look like child’s play. I had to give up drinking in great part because I almost never had a hangover. And damned if I was leaving the house if I was running on impulse engines only or worse yet, maneuvering thrusters. That’s what the large Gatorade was for. Maybe some Cheez-Its to

I went back to the restaurant, went INSIDE (already fuming), asked to speak to the manager, and then threw the sandwich on the counter. I asked him for an explanation.

As the man who took over managing that Jimmy Johns in 2014 I can confirm that they probably did give you norovirus, and that the picture is almost certainly of that Jimmy Johns.

Ridiculous.  Jimmy John’s sandwiches do not insult people, they only insult the idea of a good sandwich.

I’m generally OK with fast-casual restaurants. I couldn’t begin to count the number of visits I made with co-workers to Applebee’s and TGI Friday’s and The Elephant Bar for cheap drinks and appetizers-turned-meals after work, and my best friend from high school specifically worked for an Olive Garden, so I do have a

Thanks for these past three years, Kevin, and especially for making The Takeout into a site for those who also see food as: 1) good; 2) a way to enrich our lives in other ways. There’s been a lot of excellent, thoughtful, and useful writing here in the past few years, and I’m excited to see how this evolves based on

It’s not that it happens more in the UK. It’s just that in the US we don’t notice. Some asshole who only eats 1 food all the time in America is just called “Steve.”

Sometimes, it is personal. If someone tells me they think my marriage shouldn’t be legal because we’re two men or that it’s okay to deny me services based on my orientation, that isn’t a person who can be my friend. How am I supposed to have respect for someone that considers me less than?

It depends. If i want to feel full and be healthy I get a lot of lettuce/kale/spinach and top with some tomatoes, onions, olives, pepperoncini peppers or sweet peppers, cheese(light), croutons, and oil and vinegar for dressing when I’m paying by the pound.
