If anything, this middling review only made me want to see it more.

Which, as noted by a great man, is a hell of a drug.
Yeah, that one I still found quite interesting, even if it did not play to his strengths. I think he can be a strong writer, with the right theme and subject matter; the more personal the better. Actually, my favorite thing he ever wrote was a short piece called The Devil's Thumb, about a climbing trip he took when he…
Whoosh!
Edit: oh balls.
Megyn Kelly, you little tart!
Just like Brian Baker can't not be a nice guy. I want to start a band with him!
Satie is one of my favorite piano composers and oddly this the second time recently it's popped up on screen. Ben Mendelsohn plays one in Mississippi Grind. Both times it sounded genuine. Like someone who can play, but not *that* well and in MG's case, on a piano that sounded well-used. Weird.
Well, based on my first sentence you might think that I do not consider it to be an "otherwise excellent show." And you would be correct. I found it compelling at first, but increasingly frustrating. The extra effort of self-editing that show was not worth it.
Ugh, that show is such a mess. Compelling, but a mess. I stopped watching during Theon's captivity/torture sequences, once I realized they were going to draw that out for an entire season and beyond.
The Pimento grunts were a highlight for me. Sidenote from last week: I can think of very few actors who can make me laugh at a joke about lubricating one's eyes with the blood of another person. They nailed the casting with Zooks.
The fight at the beginning is shocking. My wife walked out when a man's leg was chopped off by a thrown hatchet. I did make her watch the looney-tunes chase scene but she has never watched the whole movie.
I noticed that and miss it as well. I do wonder if they are worried about butting up against copyright issues …
What do you call a tiny judge in Mexico? Judge Ito. 12 y.o. me thought that was hilarious. Oh who am I kidding … it's still funny.
That and "are you Wheezy Joe?"
Oh, I will fully admit to having my own peeves, while still mocking the peeves of others!
Why yes. Yes I do.
Of course "I could care less" means the same as "I couldn't care less." They're both idiomatic expressions. English is full of bullshit like that and for some reason people have just decided to pile on that one in the last few years. Some time look up the definition of "unthaw". Why doesn't it mean the opposite of…
Fun fact: anyone with a French(ish) name is descended from Charlemagne. My PEOPLE ancestors included. Even though we came from Ireland. Because of the Normans. I used to think I was special. Now I find I am distantly related to Bill Hader. Which is actually pretty cool. Ok, I'm done rambling.
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm sticking with it because of winter boredom mostly. In the list of things that make my eyes roll out of my skull, 'chosen one' comes right after 'an ancient prophecy'.
