I was in a gifted program for a couple years and found it almost as boring as regular school. So I went back to my regular classes where I could at least goof around in the back of the room. Also, based on the stories here, I guess this is basically Lake Wobegon? We're all above average!

Counter-point, that's what SHE said!

Do not take me seriously, I am on meds today.

I get into arguments all the time with people over "natural" vs. "unnatural". Also with people who refuse to eat anything that has "chemicals" in it. Oy.

My father-in-law gets migraines from MSG. The list of things he cannot eat is long and makes me sad.

Yeah, 'salt is salt' it is definitely simplification. For one thing, table salts have an 'anti-clumping' additive in them. Sometimes it's aluminum silicate, sometimes calcium silicate. It's needed to keep the salt from caking and won't flow otherwise. Larger grained salts don't need these. As you pointed out, price is

I guess we're all Catholics? Sin of Pride, baby.

I have yet to watch a moment of Downton, so for me he is a hunky American dude who chooses to put on a British accent for interviews, for some reason.

I think they should've set this present day. It makes sense that you wouldn't stop filming if you have a go-pro strapped to your head. It makes less sense if you have to carry it around and point it at aliens or whatever.

Absolutely. And Dolezal … I honestly don't have anything to say about her!

Well, yes and no. It's how we've DECIDED that racial identity works. My cousin's dad is from Nigeria and his mom is as white as anyone born in Wyoming could be. His dad went back to Nigeria and he was raised by his mom and all his very white uncles, aunts, grandparents. Guess what people think he is? Definitely not

I thought of that too. It was a relief that these guys are still alive and saying, "ow!"

Full disclosure: have not seen it, will not see it. But Mrs. PEOPLE watched it and commented that it was a little weird that all the antagonists are other women.

I've seen some of it on TV and was really struck by how magnetic Gosling was. I don't know exactly how much was retroactive projection on my part, since I like him so much … but yeah, mostly meh.

While the giant cowboy sign gives a thumbs-up and winks?

Damn, me too. Her knife fight was one of the best parts!

"We got us a SPACE CONVOY."

I am super late getting to this season and I haven't read through all these comments yet but … did anyone else think Hanzee's talk about Vietnam was a shout-out to Michael Connelly? He was a tunnel rat (which is what Harry Bosch was in the books) and he says something about the 'black echo' which was the first Bosch

Ha, I had to look it up. 1967.

She's getting there on Street Fighters …

God I love Freddie Hubbard. It's not the most polished album, but Fastball: Live at the Left Bank is the one of his I put on most often. Benny Maupin is on it too, although seemed a little off that night or something. But it is so enjoyable.

Re: Shorter, also Speak No Evil. I'm glad this came out. It's just the kick in the pants I needed to explore more of Morgan's stuff!
