Am I the only person in the world who caffeine doesn’t affect? I enjoy coffee immensely but it doesn’t “wake me up” or anything of that sort... I regularly have a cup of coffee right before bed and I still sleep like a baby...

Why did they lose points for potatoes?
There has to be more to this. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no excuse for *either* parent to subject a child to this type of abuse (and yes, a stepfather is a parent...they’re married), but there’s a couple things that got my spidey sense tingling:
I swear with all the assholes that need to be killed these days, being a freelance extra-judicial executioner would be enough to keep SEAL Team 6 busy.
How the hell does anyone think this is a viable excuse?
My wife works CPS and I HATE it. The only thing I hate more is pieces of shit like this ‘Mother’ and ‘Step-father’ who give CPS a reason to exist. I could never do that job ‘cause 1 day of encountering these fuckers and I know I’d lose it and take matters into my own hands.
I wonder if the sentence will be no food or water for those “parents” until such time as officials observe them eating their own hands? Seems fair.
She lost any claim to the title “Mother” after this, IMO
Why does she even want visitation? She clearly doesn’t give a fuck about the child as evidenced by this case; why does she want to see him?
People would probably be better off if they were handed a bit of cocaine instead of the damn chocolate.
Ugh, the internet is a wonderful/horrifying place.
While eating her placenta.
The law of averages says that somewhere some girl is snorting cocoa and getting her vagina filled with glitter.
Frankly the ‘cinnamon challenge’ looks like a more proven pick-me-up effect than snorting cocoa with caffeine. Why did we get so tired all of a sudden in this world? Oh yeah, because nearly everything on a day-to-day level sucks.
Okay, I know I’ll get slammed for this one but seriously? If a woman’s body needed that placenta, it would be reabsorbed, not shoved out within minutes (usually) of delivering the baby. That’s just gross.
I dunno—there are a lot of people (at least here in Brooklyn) who are convinced that infant swimming lessons teach the baby or toddler to swim, and so they’re less vigilant with their kids in the water. The takeaway is the same for all these stories, really: supervise. (Touch supervise!)
Where was this yesterday? When the article “Swim lessons won’t drown proof your kids” was published? This was well written and non-alarmist. THANK YOU... I realize that my kids learning how to swim doesn’t make them aqua man... However, the Fear, Guilt, Judgement approach is wholly unhelpful in my eyes.
That last point. Learn CPR. Learn the basics for adults and infants/toddlers. The guidelines change over time, so if you learned it years ago, take a new class. Hopefully you’ll never be put in a position to need it, but it’s well worth the time to learn it in case you do.
still baffling that there are adults who cant swim or even tread water... adults.
I don’t think wasting energy by leaving lights or a TV on is a valid advice.
