I am starting to wonder if the manufacturers might be forced to slow them down. Making 0-60 in c.3 seconds easily attainable seems totally irresponsible.

Tesla would be better served doing vehicles for the last 10 miles of distribution. Electric vehicles work well for final stage delivery, stop-start, ‘idling’, waiting etc.. Batteries are not good at sitting at 60mph for 8 hours.
