Re: Duel of the Fates-I liked a lot of things about both Force Awakens and Last Jedi. But the fact that Disney launched this trilogy in this huge franchise without deciding beforehand on an overall direction for the entire thing is still incredible to this day. I cannot believe they messed this up.
There has actually been a trend within the industry to back away from declaring failure after opening weekend. Movies like Elemental and the new TMNT has shown that not being number one isn’t a death sentence exec think it is. If a movie has good staying power and stays in the top 5 for several weeks it can end up…
Yeah, it’s just rote memory once you get the hang of it. No different than running a kinda hard level of Mario.
My younger sibling had a bunch of Barbie games back in the 90s/00s that I got to experience. ‘Secret Agent Barbie’ was kind of fun as sort of a Baby’s First Metal Gear Solid. There was also ‘Detective Barbie’ which, IIRC, had a different culprit every time you played. And who could forget ‘Barbie Fashion Designer,’…
Ryu’s that ‘one friend’ who seems to always have the best stories, lots of cool people he’s met, very fish-out-of-water who a lot of people would love to be like.... until they meet Ken and Chun-Li who love him but are exasperated by the fact that he just doesn’t do adulting.
Anybody who has drawn a regularly updated comic: “Yeah, I get it.”
My hot take: yay for preservation but this way of treating legacy entertainment is a bit like “look at this bargain bin, all this CONTENT”. Then the discourse about old games is focused only on the nostalgia, and people who were not alive when these games were done will just see a bunch of varied stuff packed in the…
Thanks! That helps me set my expectations. If you haven't played it yet, I definitely recommend playing Ai.
True, but at least you can’t save the game in an unwinnable state. Which was kind of the hallmark of the Sierra model.
One thing I liked was the small amount of randomization. Even aside from the three paths, some puzzles were different each time you played. Most notably one of the first quests (recover Plato’s Lost Dialogue) had it hidden in one of 5 possible places IIRC. And then later on, some stuff with Stone Disc puzzles.
You’re forgetting about a huge negative here: digital only. I want physical copies.
I gotta disagree with the assessment of the controller’s value vs safety towards the end of your article. It should be made clear that while yes, xbox controllers are technically in use on the attack subs, even the linked article indicates those controllers have nothing to do with actually controlling the movement of…
This. I love No More Heroes but it’s a cool evening or two at best. You’re getting an awful lot more game for only 6 more dollars if you go with something like Persona 5 instead.
Ya this went from insta-buy to meh real quick.
I thought it at least looked much faster than MK11, and hopefully the gameplay has more options and opportunities to try out different things.
Not a fan of how every new iteration of the turtles has to introduce a brand new villain. Otherwise, as I’ve said before, the movie looks like it’s going to be a blast.
Pretty sure anyone who’s ever written a line of SQL knew exactly how this situation came to be.
This was playtested and they knew it was a mediocre product, they just don’t care as long as enough people pay AAA game prices for it.
