I thought it was significant that Mick talked about Kayla like he did about Snart. When he thought she was dead, it was you don’t leave a teammate behind. When he left it was about finding a new partner in crime. On the other hand, she’s got a lot of Garima’s characteristics, so no wonder he’s into her.
I like the Kayla-Rory relationship. It doesn’t feel like they’ve fallen in love - it feels like they each recognise the other as a capable protector for their children (who they also mostly like). [Kayla’s decision to throw her lot in with Rory felt less ‘oh, I adore him so much!’ and more ‘...you know what, he does…
Also notable that even when the fountain went full ‘wave of killing energy’, it didn’t kill Kayla or Gary (or Sara, for that matter). So it’s clearly not a completely xenophobic ‘no non-native species on this planet!’ kind of guardian...
It feels appropriate for Constantine - a character not just from another show, but originally from outside the entire Arrowverse, not to mention a very long and celebrated history in the comics - to NOT die on Legends. It feels like a recognition that maybe he wasn’t their character to kill! [likewise, having him…
Caity Lotz is everything. As long as the show has her as Sara I think it will be fine. I will miss Mick but I like the lineup a lot right now. Nate had a lot of good moments in this episode, I like him stepping up as Sara & Ava’s right hand guy providing whatever they need, including marrying them
I still have a hard time believing the Flash movie exists. I feel like even after I get a ticket I’ll expect a message about how they’re sorry and the movie’s delayed to pop up on-screen.
Of all the scenes I did not expect a fricking Gary and Ava scene to dropkick me in the emotions. I cried, it was that good.
Hmm. If you get confused about whether you’re rich or poor, you’re rich.
I think that relates to one of my problems with Alex and Kelly’s relationship. It’s not written like a relationship that a character like Alex actually would have. It’s written to an inoffensively lame and perfect lgbt relationship.
I was thoroughly amused by the subtext though. “You know, I’m not sure I can really be my best self and truly help the community unless I give myself permission to put on a costume and rough up some motherfuckers from time to time. I mean, shit, everyone else I know is doing it.”
Well you see he wears a hat as a PI so he’s unrecognizable.
I mean I feel the central issue with Guardian is a bigger problem in the Arrowverse shows in that everyone, literally everyone, has to be a superhero in some manner. Even characters where it makes absolutely no sense for them to have such an identity.
Sort of a shame that in this version of Supergirl that she didn’t spend her early life-on-earth as ‘Linda Lee’ in an orphanage as she did in the comic book. There could have been a bunch of these stories with that younger actress.
-Pulitzer Prize winner Kara got absolutely snowed by the prison-industrial complex. I always wonder how much Supergirl intends to critique journalists with these storylines and how much is an accident.
Once again F Andrea and her bs news standards.
Big oof. Too many big reveals and big moments crammed into a single episode. At literally the same time we have more hand-wringing about not changing one’s own timeline, the timeline is already 100% getting changed, and then, wait for it... it’s getting changed again by Bishop in a major way.
The way i saw it the shrooms (the alien protector ones) existed earlier in the past, pre invasions. Me thinks there will be some pre destination paradox where they're inert
I hope you’re not wrong. I’m okay they no longer want the character on the show as he had a tendency to make it all about him. Him dying, and after being played by Bishop though? Well, that kinda insulting to the character and his decades worth of stories of always being just the one extra step ahead of the other guy…
I somewhat expect Constantine’s death to be undone, partly because this seems necessary to restore the fountain & Spooner’s personal timeline. I guess the team and Zari 2.0 are both not taking him back, though. Sad really but it does seem like the right ending for that character, who even on a team of misfits never…
