Agreed. However quicker I can get the dozing guy behind me to realize the gap between us is closing, the better.

Even worse are the cars without DRL but have a nice bright instrument panel and a dense steering wheel holder that doesn’t notice they have no lights on.
Side impacts also account for 25% of all vehicle collision fatalities (anyone). So that seems to indicate that the booster seat has no impact (which is a good things since its effectively raising the kid up to be protected by the seat belt properly.
The IIHS should also add vehicles to this list which do not have an automated headlights on feature. Following a car with no tail-lights is troubling, especially on unlit roadways. Cannot count how many times I’ve driven behind someone who thinks their headlights are on because the DRL’s are illuminating the road…
What percentage of those were due to an insufficient booster seat?
I really dislike these “Stars” and “Percentages”. Just give me the actual data! How many G’s did each dummy suffer? Any whiplash? Any strikes from inside the cabin?
He owes no taxes at all. He didn’t make a profit per IRS accounting rules. As a business, you only pay taxes on the profit.
I hope this doesn’t come off as condescending, because I really do want to understand. Why continue to do this?
I’m a bit confused. Wouldn’t you want to write:
Was going to say, that’s not how it works, that’s not how it works at all. IRS reimbursement rate can’t even be applied in this situation, it’s irrelevent.
Tax income does not equal actual income. That 58 cent per mile assumption is going to be way higher than actual expenses for your car because it’s based on averages for work vehicles, most of which are big trucks/vans, not a tiny cheap sonic. Your fuel cost is probably ~7 cents per mile. Your repairs at 6K over 50k…
My Step Father has been a self employed truck driver for years and also makes zero dollars when it comes time to file his tax return. That is the nature of self employment.
soooo, are you going to condemn GM for their 6 figure Hummer EV, or are you going to keep kissing their asses because that truck is electric?
agreed, leave the political bs out of vehicle reviews. FFS, this is one reason why we read sites like this in the first place. Though anyone still thinking they could avoid being bombarded with political crap on this particular site is severely mistaken.
I love this truck and I do love Jalopnik, I’ve been a follower since 2008. But for the love of god, can you guys just write automotive articles without predicating them on heated and politically debated topics. Just providing a hyperlink doesn’t add to any credibility and it takes away from the actual content at…
But, everything that makes it impressive, also makes it feel tone deaf in the face of the reality of 2020. The real unemployment rate in America is over 26 percent, more Americans are behind on their car payments than ever in history, and the majority of American adults have less than $1,000 in savings. Not to…
“But dealers provide so much value by helping the customer navigate the scary and confusing car buying process”
While that truck does indeed cost $8500, it doesn’t cost $57,000.
