And the WK2 is actually from 2011, not 2009. The only new FCA platform in 2009 was the Ram 1500 (DS). The older WK (which preceded the current WK2) was released in 2005.) WK2 has been refreshed, but the platform hasn’t changed...

I’d wager this is the Ram version of the 6.4L, i.e., a Cummins alternative with gobs of torque... I think this is going to be a lower-cost alternative to the EcoDiesel.
My guess is this will actually be the Ram version of the 6.4L and it will be a lower-cost alternative to the EcoDiesel. I’d imagine it will match all the EcoDiesel’s towing specs but do so for less money...
Recalls are NOT BAD. Would you rather Jeep behave like Ford and leave defective products in service (like the Fiesta transmissions) for the owners to take care of?
I agree - Daniel Stern’s philosophy is EXTREMELY FLAWED. (And I’ve read almost all of his site several times over.)
Shhh - that kinda of critical thinking skills will get you sent back to the grays pretty quickly...
Jalopnik used to focus on cars. I see you’re a newcomer? Please go back to the Root or Jezebel from wence you came..
Dave does not seem to think about Net Present Value...
Not anymore it’s not. Most 1/2 ton trucks come stock with 33"s...
I agree - that’s a silly ratio. It makes me think that they’re going to be using the Ranger’s transfer case (2.72:1 low-range ratio) and need the diffs to make up for it’s limited ratio. (Rubicon’s t-case low-range gearing is 4:1, FWIW)
You don’t have to regear a Rubicon unless you go stupid big.
David,
Didn’t the order say you only need to have the vehicles in a garage to make them legal?
Temporary garages are cheap...
Found the mooch.
Do you look at knives with higher regard that humans because the knife can cut a steak better? Don’t be so dense...
What do you think a tax is? It’s a penalty... It’s taking away an option/choice via monetary means.
It’s like someone asking “will this LS fit in my kid’s Powerwheels” and someone saying “with enough money, anything will fit...”
Exactly. No cars in cities, for one...
Yeah, but see, you guys want the FEDS to pay for those rail systems, and that means that Nebraska will be paying for it too.
The states and cities are free to built their own transit systems at any time using their own funds. They just don’t want to.
Exactly. Germany is smaller than Texas and has a population more than TWICE that of the Texas (84M vs 30M) - what works for them doesn’t mean shit for what will or will not work here.
