Got it, so you THINK I’m wrong, but you actually can’t prove anything so you’re just going to run away?

How can I prove I hate insurance to you?

You can opt-out any time you wish! Insurance is not required here! There are many alternatives available, many of which are “social” in nature. You can also just invest your own money and save it for when you need it.

Actually, I’m a Millennial. (Wow, that hurts to say.)

I disagree, but regardless, you’re not required to have insurance. If it’s not working for you, drop it and save your money.

You can add on, sure, but you can’t opt-out of the main system. You’re stuck paying into it even if it doesn’t actually help you.

Perhaps, but since that is not going to happen anytime soon, surely you would agree that government is - by and large - not beneficial?

You are not required to have insurance. You don’t have to support any insurance company if you don’t want to. Take your money and invest it yourself and put it away to pay for any care you need.

You are not required to work with any of those companies, so...

You’re missing one very, very important difference: I am not required to have insurance. I can save my own money and/or pay my own way. I do not need to send any of my money to any person or company. I may choose to if they offer a service/security that is worthy of investing in.

Again, I don’t like insurance. But socializing shit won’t fix anything!

The greater good, eh? So you understand that a system like this will have to put a value on each and every one of our heads, right?

Most forms of cancer and diabetes can be prevented/avoided. Try taking better care of yourself and avoiding having to deal with these issues to begin with???

Fine then, in which specific & demonstrable ways am I wrong? Where are the working examples and references of the cases/points you are making?

You aren’t good with rhetorical tools, are you?

Of course you’ll be “on the hook” for the costs! Why wouldn’t you be? Do you not have to pay for your own food, your own clothes, your own housing, your own car, etc? It’s YOUR OWN CARE AND TREATMENT!

You mean the shitty, pot-hole-filled ones that no amount of taxation seems to be able to fix?

Okay; think what you wish if that makes you feel better.

This is the exact same gimmick that Toyota pulled (successfully) with the Tundra, which is also basically a 5/8-ton truck...

Why they did or didn’t do something doesn’t matter; it’s that there was a bureaucrat who was making the decision that is the problem.
