Jesus, man... What do you have against working-class people? Do you favor serfdom?!?

Everyone deserves the ability to move around freely and find what is best for themselves. How they move around is up to them. I would question anyone who lives in a city to “save money”, because you can’t. Having things close by

Critical thinking is not one the strong points on these sites...

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Poor people aren’t exclusive to metro areas. Also, I’d say if you live in a metro area to begin with, you aren’t actually “poor”. You can’t be. Those areas are too highly sought after...

Correction, it cost about $3000 - I had $3500 in my head from re-reading the posts.

For reference, I have a good friend who recently had to have his Ram's engine replaced at his cost, and it was $9K...

The Lifetime BTB I got came from FCA, the manufacturer. That would not work for non-FCA vehicles.

I don’t think it is, but plenty of others do. If you want the best deal, you’re giving the lender the VIN, making sure they know all the options, miles, etc., and you’ve looked into the cost of add-ons like GAP and warranties and what not. Again, I don’t think that’s very hard, but I am told regularly that things I do

+1 learn to walk away

I paid LESS THAN THAT for Lifetime BTB coverage; I’d run away from that deal. Even if it’s a MB, which will have higher repair costs, those terms are SUPER LIMITED!

You’re not going to be able to avoid the “finance guy,” because he’ll be the one going over all the documents and what not with you.

I love Rams, but they messed up the front end of these trucks and that 12" screen is gawdy. If I were to get a 5th Gen, I’d look at a Rebel with the 8.4" screen or move up to the 2500s. Or I’d get a loaded ‘19 Classic Warlock or an older Limited or Longhorn and have all the same bells and whistles in a MUCH BETTER

1: Faulty logic; yes, it gets dirty again, but the cumulative effects are reduced. Do you never vacuum or shower either???

2: Use warm water and a towel and that’s not an issue. Also, faulty logic. If spray from the car wash freezes the door shut, so will the spray from the roads...

The good ones I use filter/screen/treat their water, if they actually recirculate, and also use hot water, which removes more grime and helps to keep sediments separated. I’ve clay-barred and detailed after using the car washes, and there’s no excessive amounts of “brine” being sprayed by the wash. I get more salt on

Illinois. I’m pretty sure some rock salt / plow union has some powerful friends...

I have recently moved from Texas to the midwest, where there is actually snow on a regular occasion. HARDLY ANYONE HERE WASHES THEIR CARS! Especially during the winter!?! I do not understand this! I took mine to the wash every week for a basic wash to remove some of the salt. Everyone up here complains that “washing

(Aside: It’s a bit hard to find your responses. Can you either use new paragraphs next time or use the quotation style feature?)

I can see a 10-15% increase, but that equates to less than 2-3 MPGs. Using the same math as earlier, it’s a $316/year savings. Still not worth it to me.

For clarity, here’s the equation:

13,467 Avg. Miles / Year x ( ( 2.661 Avg. $/Gallon / Lower MPG Figure ) - (2.661 Avg. $/Gallon / Higher MPG Figure ) ) = $ Saved / Year

If you are stuck in traffic, your soul is already dead; hypermiling won’t hurt anything at that point. ;D

I would not consider what you are talking about “hypermiling,” but perhaps I have spent too much time looking at guys building teardrop sail panels on their car’s rear end or something? I would consider what you

OEM-type components only, otherwise it’s modded. That’s pretty simple.

Replacing worn OEM brakepads with the OEM replacements? Not modded. Replacing them with Hawk pads? Modded.

Replacing OEM frame-type wipers with Bosch Icon frameless ones? Modded.

Replacing Goodyear Wrangler SRAs with Duratracs of the same size? Modded.

Aw, okay, so we’re missing each other on “modified” then. To me, a “bro-dozer” (which I also hate on ;) ) is an extreme case of modification. But to me, evening adding A/T tires to an otherwise-as-built truck is “modding.”

Yes, there are not that many “bro-dozers”, but there are lots and lots of trucks with
