It’s both for me, all the time. I live in TX and have to be around these dipshits all the time. To make matters worse, half of my family hold the same values as these idiots. Fuck all of them.

A pregnant person may or may not consider themselves a mother, and to refer to all pregnant people as "mothers" is pro-forced-birth language.

The Texas complaint states On the contrary, EMTALA contemplates that an emergency medical condition is one that threatens the life of the unborn child. It is obvious that abortion does not preserve the life or health of an unborn child.”

When you get a chance to wear a floofy dress, you do it!

Right? I got married last year, and yes it was extremely frustrating to be expected to have an opinion on things like what color the table numbers should be when there was no such expectation on my husband - but traumatizing? To call any of this traumatizing is absurd.

And also, I’m sorry, but all of this is easily avoidable, self-inflicted “trauma.” Trauma is a real thing. Let’s not trivialize it by equating it with having to wade through “an infuriating number of emails about ribbon.’

My grandparents got married at the church with a few dozen in attendance. Bride wore her best day suit, polka dotted. Only a few pictures of the bride and groom on the lawn outside the church, taken by a family member. They just had a cake in the church basement for the reception.

The pandemic was the best thing that happened to my daughter’s wedding plans. She lost about a grand on deposits when her June wedding was cancelled. But the venue was kind enough to let her switch the deposit to their smallest room when she slashed the guest list from 200 to 50 and rescheduled for that fall.

I know the people featured in this story are mostly religious but I find American women in general, even the most progressive, stick to these traditions as well, for reasons I’ve never understood but that are probably tied into keeping up appearances, doing what’s expected, and also the consumerism and capitalism

Am I the only one that thinks the standard wedding should’ve died a long time ago? Just go to city hall, get your marriage certificate, and invite your friends to celebrate with you afterwards. Forget the hall, forget the guest list, forget the family drama, forget all those headaches and leave the anxiety behind.

Given the number of “help wanted” I‘m seeing in restaurants, I’d say that the folks who work at Morton’s can find gigs elsewhere. Shut ‘em down!

Yea this is the ‘Found Out’ phase of the ‘Fuck Around & Found Out’ dance these idiots seem to find themselves in.

I wouldn’t want the poor girl subjected to more of anything dealing with that peach.

Republicans love to create strawmen to pass their ghoulish policies, but when a real tragedy happens because of said policies? “Personal responsiblity”, “thoughts and prayers”, “sometimes these things happen”, etc. The cruelty is the point.

purchase the gun that Hitler killed himself” seems like a neat artifact to own. Probably should be in a museum though.

Kim’s an insufferable narcissist, and a liar. But the real blame lies with magazines like Allure that keep asking her and other vapid twats like her these stupid questions, knowing full well she’s going to lie.

But it is easy: make a sex tape to get the money to have plastic surgery, bingo!

Kim was naturally beautiful. Her aesthetic now is all about unnatural work she’s had done.

Cool Girl is back, and she has an update for the 2020s.
