What is this “locked desk drawer” of which you speak? I mean, technically, it has a lock, but the keys were lost about 10 years ago (1-2 years after the school was built), and a 12-year old with a paper clip can jimmy the lock open.

“States rights! States rights! States rights!”
I’m still in awe of this batshit crazy policy. So are teachers supposed to be on the lookout for school shooters (extremely rare events), and then run out into the hall to gun down the assailant? They’re not supposed to wait for law enforcement to arrive or to protect their classrooms full of students? And how are…
I really fail to understand the thought process behind threatening someone’s life over something you disagree with, or the person’s looks (like what happened to Lindy), or even if they were somehow shitty to you. Like, will you actually carry it out? Are you just venting? Do you mean to scare the one you’re…
While I appreciate the information, maybe just link it so there aren’t pages to scroll through to other comments? Thanks!
I will be watching Victoria on Masterpiece instead. The 12 year-old in me that was obsessed with Elizabeth I and Victoria (yes, I was incredibly cool) is very excited.
She’s tiring.
I was planning on marathoning West Wing with maybe a break for a screening of All The President’s Men. But now I’m thinking about going to a rally at Bayfront Park.
I’m not a Toby Keith fan at all, but I interpreted that the opposite way. I thought he was saying that he does support the troops and national health care, it sounded to me like he was saying that “it’s illegal” in that everybody expects people to be either far right or far left, people don’t expect others to hold…
I actually think this is sarcasm, he’s asking why can’t he support both.
Thank you. I fucking hate Toby Keith and his fake-ass brand of patriotism, but the confusion at what he’s saying here is...kind of dumb.
Well, can’t wait to not watch that.
Do people really not get that he was using hyperbole to point out the lack of empathy in this country for people who support agendas from more than one side of the political spectrum and not making a literal statement about his beliefs? I mean I’m not saying the guy is a genius of wordsmithery, but I’m surprised that…
The sentence right before it is him giving his independent bona fides, decrying being called a Nazi because he supports the troops while at the same time supporting nationwide health coverage. Or do you thing he literally thinks that is illegal?
It’s convoluted as fuck, but I believe that he’s saying that, contrary to what the populace believes, you can support both the troops and want national health care. Unfortunately, the political climate has made this difficult to do so, because they’re issues that are diametrically supported/opposed by the two leading…
As much as I loathe Toby Keith, I actually think this quote was intentionally taken out of context. I think he’s saying that people say you can’t support both those things at the same time. So he’s saying if he supports both the troops and national health care, people will tell him that’s not possible because he’s…
Yeah, that was my take....he’s pointing out that he’s not the far right guy people think he is, he’s actually an independent, but people nowadays don’t believe that one can be both for the troops and also for national health care (as he apparently is).
I think he is saying he is for troops and national healthcare but is an independent because those are perceived as exclusively republican (troops) / democrat (healthcare).
Aw dammit, 3 Doors Down, I liked you in the 90's. Why you gotta tarnish my nostalgia?
