retreating armies also salted the earth to deny the land to the victor.
At last a modicum of real knowledge appears on Kotaku’s comment section!
Yes, actually, that is what the phrase means. Salting the earth was a method of putting down so much salt in an area that it killed off all plants and made it a struggle for anything to thrive there for a period of time. Some invading tribes would do it just to be dicks to any survivors left behind in raids. It is…
The sun/dot should be fine since it’s literally their flag. If China thinks using the Japanese flag is offensive due to Japan’s past war crimes, then perhaps using the Chinese flag should be considered offensive due to their crimes against humanity being perpetrated right now. China’s high horse is one of the lowest…
have faith this time. while personal gains are definitely a factor in this, restructuring the entire financial system (and bringing power back to average investors) is the main goal.
Eh, where’s the fun in that!?
Half the joy I find in stealth games comes from abusing the gaps in AI. It’s a feature, not a flaw.
ME:A wasn’t even a buggy mess out of the gate, it had a few visual glitches that ultimately didn’t mean anything. Games media seems to love catering to the reactionary part of the audience though, because media is driven by clicks and reactionaries love to click - just look at the difference between Kotaku’s tone on…
Hmmm, I’m still dubious. H1 and H2 are examples of games that I want to like so badly, yet I’m having a hard time doing that. My issue with the last two iterations is that they are games of extremes.
God i want a rerelease of this game bad. Needs to be on pc. Only reason i want an xbox one and i cant justify buying one for one game
So I think I have my wires crossed. People aren’t actually thinking that CDPR intentionally implemented actual seizure inducing light patterns, right? And that in reality it just happens to accidentally mimic the mechanism? They weren’t like “ Yo Dave, let’s give some people epilepsy, that’ll show them.” I’m not a…
Stay classy CDPR fans
I know I’m in the minority with this, but while everyone was going crazy over FFVII (a game I did and do love very much), I much preferred Xenosaga in every aspect, even taking into consideration the truncated second half. I never managed to finish the Xenosaga trilogy, but I enjoyed deeply what I played. I like this…
It’s weird. I played Xenosaga 1 and 2 (and I still own them!)... and didn’t complete 2 due to a kerfluffle where I didn’t save for several hours and died and couldn’t bring myself to redo all that work. I never realized that those games were considered a failure however, and just figured that at some point all 3 games…
Thank you for this read. As an (obvious) fan of the Xeno series, I am always grateful whenever a new game comes out. After the disaster that was Xenosaga 2, I feel lucky to still be able to still play new games from my favorite series, even if they’re not canonically linked.
Let them. Let them all get sick. 2020 has shown us that the herd needs some serious thinning.
not to mention, this is one of the shittier cons
both in terms of offerings and management
FYI - the “Latest” section is basically the old layout - https://kotaku.com/latest
There’s a link that says “Latest” at the top. That should give you a chronological list. Get used to it because the rest of the Giz sites are going the same way as Kotaku, apparently.
DING DING DING!!! This is the right answer. The metal piece on the back of the button is making incidental contact with the sensor thingy that tells PS4 to.spit out discs. I fixed it by covering the metal plate with a wee bit of electric tape. Years of insanity ended over night, and I had tried just about every “fix” i…
It boggles the mind that this has to be spelled out.
