Here’s my problem with unions — the seniority rules all mindset. The two guys with X years of seniority both earn $N and the guy with X-3 years earns less. And if somebody has to be let go, it’s the low-seniority guy who goes. In jobs (most of which have no been replaced by automation) where workers are essentially

I don’t work in game development, but elsewhere in the software world.

Unions are like vaccines.

Remember Wednesday when I said everyone should join a union?

While I was fairly young when this happened, I still remember it and the only thing I could’ve told you for years was what she did. It wasn’t until years later that I discovered her side of the story. I suspect even now lots of people don’t know it because as you point out it became just a late night monologue joke.

A) Lorena was a victim of long-term abuse from her husband. Abuse has been clearly been shown to mentally affect victims. Listening to the description of how she was found, which is not just coming from her but multiple places, it should be pretty damn clear that her mental state was clearly not sound.

Hallie, you’re a true heroine for this. And this kind of article is the Number One reason I read Deadspin over any other sport site - you all actually care about shedding light on these sorts of issues. This feminist thanks you, all of you.

If you don’t want to be friends with somebody, don’t be friends with them.

That’s why I don’t get it when someone finds out someone else never played their favorite old game and push them to play it. It’s not going to be the same. It may still be fun, and probably worth playing to get familiar with it, but it’ll be virtually impossible for them to have the same experience the first person

I agree. Every now and then I’ll go back and play an ancient game for nostalgia’s sake and it very rarely holds up. The game is the same but I’m not.

69%, surely

So what is Cultural Appropriation, really?
