Maybe if they spent less money on Tetsuya Nomura’s 10 year development cycles they’d have more security on things like that. Though I think the biggest problem is major publishers always want the world with every game they put real money into. They all want a Call of Duty level hit. Jim Sterling put it best when he

Yeah, I guess this is the first time where it’s applicable. Honestly, I’m still shocked that they managed to screw up an Avengers game so badly. This was the most sure thing ever and they managed to throw every terrible business practice and corporate bullshit at it. Though, honestly, it might also be that people are

Do any games sell as expected for Square? Because every time I see that headline I read up on it and the games sold well but Square wanted it to be the massive hit that it most definitely couldn’t be.

The Xbox One. As time went on I had less and less of a reason to use it and it only ever performed worse. I had the Day one edition and it went from kind of clunky to really slow and clunky. Now it barely reads game discs and can’t read blurays or dvd’s. Loading apps is slow and inconsistent so it fails as the all in

These ray tracing effects are getting nuts

Yeah that was a big reason for why I didn’t immediately get the 360 when it launched. Also a friend of mine won an early model from the Mountain Dew competition and it red ringed on him several times in a row. I figured they would have ironed out those kinks by launch. What a young fool I was.

Listen he learned it from Louie C.K.

No, NO. I refuse to accept that it’s been 6 months since this game came out! I can’t have been in quarantine that long!

Gotta be honest, getting real sick and tired of bots and scalpers ruining any kind of product launch. I feel like we should have come up with a way to stop these ass holes by now. I know FOMO is a big factor and we should all be patient but still, this is bullshit. I’m not even in the market for a 3080 but I was

I played the demo and liked it a lot but never got around to the main game. I’ve only heard good things, however, so I’ll check it out soon. Hopefully they put it on pc.

Wait that wasn’t a joke?

I remember when my brother got a PS2 for his birthday in 2001 and we ended up mostly just playing our old PS1 games on it because there was fucking nothing else. Thankfully the PS2 catalog of games got much, MUCH better as the years went on.

Yeah, Nintendo usually has that shit locked down better than most I’ll give them that.

and then the Switch Launched with a Zelda and did gangbusters as well. I think there was some slight variation of the Wii in between those but I can’t remember it. Something with a U?..Whatever it doesn’t matter.

All of this. I haven’t been into final fantasy for years because it feels like they’re all incoherent nonsense puked out by Tetsuya Nomura. This looks so much like classic Final Fantasy and I’m so thrilled. Nomura has defined the look and style of the series for way too long. His games aren’t bad, at least not all of

If nothing else this really puts into perspective how terrible launch lineups usually are. Only a few of the games listed from past generations hold up or are even remembered.

More over that have cosmetics to sell and they won’t let a popular character like Captain America go to waste. That’s just money on the table.

Yeah, in this particular case Bethesda was cool. I doubt they’d offer the same courtesy to people now. A lot changed in the past 4 years.

I think it’s more that GTA V opened the big PS5 reveal event. Like, people are jazzed to see all the new games for the new console and they start the entire thing off by announcing a port of a 2013 game that literally everybody has played. If you wanna completely deflate people’s enthusiasm that’s a good way to do it.
