As a long time fan of the series, yeah, Diablo III was way better on consoles. I don’t think the first two games (which are WAY better) would work as well but D3 was definitely a good time with my friends on the xbox. It kinda felt like Diablo III was made with consoles in mind, honestly.

They’re all about the market place of ideas until somebody starts doing better than them based on a set of skills they do not posses.

Wouldn’t know, I haven’t played anthem since it first came out. I got the ea access thing and didn't even use the whole month.

Seeing No Man’s sky turn around and become a really good game gives me hope that anthem can do the same. Though it’s not exactly an easy thing to pull off and I’m not 100% sure Bioware in it’s current state is up to it.

I mean at this point it feels like No Man’s Sky has eclipsed star citizen by simply being out there and playable. It does a lot of what star citizen promised and doesn’t charge you uo to $10,000 for a single star ship.

Yeah you don’t have to play it online if you don’t want to. The co-op is fun but ultimately optional. They’ve just recently been adding more robust features to make multi-player easier and such. At the end of the day No Man’s Sky is a single player space game.

I dunno, I still worry Doom Eternal will sell "below expectations" because it's releasing around two other huge games. Bethesda is far more money hungry and desperate to please shareholders than the other two parties involved.

Oh that’s cool. I guess I’ll cry for the rest of the evening now.

Just got it yesterday and love it so far. Can’t wait to play the full game.

Agreed, that’s what a lot of people don’t get about Diablo. That shit is supposed to be scary. You’re fighting the forces of fucking hell and hell doesn’t play around. They can win. It ain’t gonna be a walk in the park.

I agree but D2 makes up for it in other places and at least there are still moments where that dark tone of the first game comes through. Diablo 3 is such a joke. The game play is fun, yeah but I could never really enjoy it because it never once felt like Diablo. It’s closer in tone to a Saturday morning cartoon than

Agreed, and nobody wants to love Diablo 4 more than me. Diablo is my favorite series from Blizzard, especially the first two. I guess I’m just very skeptical of Blizzard. Though I admit the trailer for D4 does look quite promising. If nothing else they’re heads are in the right place.

I sure hope you’re right.

Now playing

Now that you mention it the tone of Gears 1 especially is quite dark and bordering on horror. I can see it. Just strange is all. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s excellent news. Diablo needs to be darker and more gritty. Though I feel like the problem is atmosphere. Nothing has been able to recapture the original 2

That’s awful weird. I wouldn’t say Rod Ferguson would be a good fit for Diablo but, heck, maybe he will. Kinda weird that he’s taking over that position midway through Diablo IV’s development.

I am also wondering if they are gonna try shit like this for the eventual Diablo II remaster. If this hadn’t been a disaster they might have tried something similar with that game.

One can never be too prepared for demonic invasion.

I don’t know but for some reason I’m very here for it.

Obligatory

In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace, and with boiling blood he scoured the umbral plains, seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. They called him THE PEANUT SLAYER!
