Who’s really interested in learning more about Snoke? He’s a fucked-up looking Dollar Store Emperor. His only job is to tell us more about the actually interesting bad guy, and that’s exactly what he’s did.

Why are the bombs such a sticking point for a lot of critics? Lightsabers are impossible. Dogfights in space are impossible. So much in these films is impossible from a scientific standpoint. Why is it the bombs has people up in arms??
fanboys: TLJ is bad because I didn’t understand [obvious element that was explained on screen]
It was the biggest grossing movie of 2017. You can argue about the choices Johnson made, but Disney hopes and prays that Solo “damages the brand” as much as TLJ.
The quality of a movie is not necessarily related to how well it performs at the box office in China. The Transformers movies are huge hits there, for instance...
These developers spent four years working on this game. It’s extremely good and it has a *lot* of content in it. I’ve played through every chapter in the game five times. The story is good. Every chapter has a “B-side” remix version that’s way more intricately difficult. I’ve spent around 40 hours just replaying the…
Nah. All this whining about TLJ is coming from folks who realize they look a lot more like the baddies and don’t want to be bothered with introspection.
Here’s what I told a friend. I saw it once and had mixed emotions. Read a lot, thought a lot, felt like I kinda liked it. Saw it again and loved it. Why?
i am one who liked it even more a second time. i didn’t spend the movie going “wait — did that just happen?” and “holy crap, i can’t believe wtf is happening!” and could just soak in it, catching little details and nuance.
I think I am going to see this for a second time in the theaters this weekend now that I have let the first viewing marinate for a month. People who hated it the first time have been telling me they like a lot more the second time around.
I, too was surprised when Luke appeared looking like this:
So what you’re saying is you didn’t watch the movie?
I can’t wait for the inevitable Young Luke spin off where we finally get to see him shooting womp rats in his T-16.
There’s tiny text on the photo saying that the character ‘finds her soulmate in a sentient VW bug’, so the magazine is actually explicitly saying that. Whether they’re accurate is still up in the air, of course.
Seeing as how Solo comes out in 5 months, I would expect the well of TLJ articles to dry up just in time for the new film :)
That’s a good list and that list maker (along with the movie’s director) should feel good about it.
He’s not wrong here. He wanted to try something new. To take risks and produce something original, and not just a throwback to the original trilogy. To make a Star Wars movie for the current generation of fans effectively, and so the angry fanboys are going to lose it and throw threats his way. This is why I’ve come…
And he totally did! I loved every little dig at the old movies, and this is coming from someone who has personally been watching since 1977.
There is a real problem within many fandoms with ‘gatekeeping’.
