Ern’s not a slacker; he has aspirations but wants to do them on his terms. The Alligator Man episode was insightful as he tells Kat Williams that he doesn’t want to be viewed as the talented failure. Ern is keenly aware that his “the road not taken” stance has rubbed some the wrong way.
