Seconding this - Southwest doesn’t have pre-assigned seats, but unlike the legacy carriers, it doesn’t actively block off all the good seats and hold them for ransom, which is the real problem here. This is always a good idea. It all depends on the airline, of course, but for example, the Air France A380 which flies from LAX has a small economy cabin upstairs with 2-3-2 seating. It is *definitely* worth paying extra for those, the window seat has a small shelf that lifts up and has extra storage.

The president doesn’t get to dictate the national healthcare plan. That’s been proven by the last three presidents - who all attempted to do so, and had to go with compromises or piecemeal reforms dictated by Congress.

Women do live longer, but I’d still prefer someone who was decades away from the end of their expected lifespan. And I do like Warren, but I just haven’t seen a lot of evidence that she has the technology literacy that we’re in desperate need of in the 21st Century.

Just because you haven’t personally seen it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I did say it was “rare”. But when it does happen, it makes news. The United Airlines dragging incident is probably the most famous recent example.

Sometimes poor service is a result of conditions the server can’t control, or they’re just having a bad day. You should give the establishment the chance to rectify the situation before leaving a terrible tip.

He’s referring to people who refuse the (rare) order to get off a plane, either due to being involuntarily bumped, or being too drunk, or violating some other rule. And then they make a scene, and get physical with the flight crew, which forces the police to arrive, and drag them off the plane.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what anybody’s talking about here.

I fly Southwest dozens of times a year. Southwest is not a “cattle call”. Everyone is given a boarding number, and boarding is far more orderly than on most airlines (which are simply a crush of people pushing and shoving at the gate, confused about when they should board).

Let’s make age 70 the upper limit of being President. Not just for health reasons (for the most stressful and critical jobs on the planet) but also because it’s apparently really difficult for a septuagenarian to relate to the most critical social, economic, and especially technological issues facing most people.
