Because people who think all problems are solved by guns are profoundly self-centered bastards, who don’t give a damn about anybody but themselves. That’s why arguments about how bad widespread gun use is don’t work on them. They couldn’t give a shit if a million toddlers’ brains got splattered on the schoolroom

Though, I do wonder how you pay the neighborhood lawn mowing teen?

Yeah, I stopped using a debit card years ago - the only reason I carry it around is the (rare) times I need to draw cash from an ATM to tip someone or give a gift. Every legitimate place to spend money can take credit cards now.

Because flying around is awesome. We get to see the country and the world, and experience new things. All in exchange for only minor, temporary, and often overblown discomforts of air travel.

Hyperbolic much?

I’m a guy married to a guy. We thought about how our names would work, didn’t like any of the options (dropping one for the other, hyphenation, coming up with a new name altogether... nope), decided to keep our last names, and that took about an hour. Hasn’t come up since then.

It was probably a patient access security issue at the hospital.

This actually sounds like it’s basically a vodka version of La Croix. Whereas most flavored vodkas contain sugar in their flavorings, this is basically just “infused” flavorings that don’t add sugar.

Your liver processes ethanol directly into sugar.

I think you’d find that most Office defenders (like myself) would agree that the last couple seasons were an almost entirely different show. All the characters were flanderized to hell, the writers were desperately out of ideas, the quality of the writing tanked, and the cringe-comedy it started with was replaced with

It’s hilarious seeing all the people up thread declaring their love for double spaced sentences, while their entire comment has been collapsed into single space breaks.

If you’re looking for the experience of strolling through gigantic Roman ruins, without the crowds, go see the Baths of Caracalla. While everyone else is shoulder-to-shoulder trying to get into the Colosseum and Roman Forum, walk a mile south of the Colosseum and see these huge Roman ruins without huge crowds (there

Trastevere (literally “across the river”) neighborhood is an excellent place to stay. Look for an Airbnb over there. It’s much less crowded, much less touristy, but still packed with tons of great bars and restaurants, and still has an extremely atmospheric, cobblestone and narrow street feel to it. And it’s still

Yes, but the night tours are not daily and sell out in advance. We tried last fall, and couldn’t get one.

You know that the “U.S. Chamber of Commerce” is not in charge of or related to most city and regional “Chambers of Commerce” right?

Well, most of the reports we’re hearing are *from* his time as the WH doctor under Obama, so it’s possible his behavior got worse *after* already getting the job. In other words, there wasn’t much to flag when he was being previously vetted for that job.

The only thing those of us in Arizona visit Yuma for is gas before crossing into California (where its 30 cents more expensive). And maybe an In-N-Out burger for lunch.

Yeah, I’m a lot more careful about letting food ever go into my sink than I am letting it sit on a clean, dry countertop for a few minutes. Kitchen sinks are by far the dirtiest spot in most people’s houses, way more so even than many toilets.

I’m legitimately upset when they don’t write down orders, because servers have screwed up my order ALL THE TIME. Even my husband and friends are aware of it now. None of us can figure out why, but I am by far the most likely to be served someone else’s dish, to have the wrong thing come out of the kitchen, or to be

It has been pretty stark, here in Arizona, to see all the bagged salads GONE from our store shelves this week. The groceries (at least the Safeway and Frys I frequent) have pulled every pre-packed lettuce-containing bag from the shelves.
