I agree. I’m just saying this is a source of statistical confusion that causes people to talk past each other when having debates like this.

A lot of people get confused by statistics about death, because they are often cited without specifying things like “death by injury” (murder, suicide, car accident) or “death by disease” (which includes heart disease, cancer, HIV) or “preventable death” (which can have some overlap with disease, like tobacco use,…
If they paid taxes, like everybody else, they are free to say and endorse whoever and whatever they want.
Pastors and religious institutions are ALREADY free to advocate and endorse whatever political candidates they want. There is no law banning their religious liberty.
Yep - I use mine for reading kindle books with the backlight (it’s still cheaper than a backlit Kindle reader itself), and watching videos when travelling, and nothing else.

Nope. You can easily hack them to get the Play Store if you want, but it slows down the whole device to the point of being ususable. Leave it with stock Amazon app store and they work fine. These are NOT meant to be productivity devices at all. I don’t actually have any apps installed on mine besides Amazon Video and…

I actually have Global Entry, not pre-check, but it gets me through the pre-check lines. It’s only $15 more than the TSA fee ($100 instead of $85). It also gives me a trusted traveler card that can be used to return from Mexico in the fast traffic line, which is handy in Arizona.
Yep, it is still worth every penny, 90% of the time. Plus, as in my case, there are boatload of travel credit cards out there now that will pay for your Pre Check fee for free!
did he not insure these vehicles? how can one “hide” 50 vehicles? she never saw the credit card bill?
I dont know, but last summer I was heading up I17 out of Phoenix to go camping. Was stuck behind a F350 Super Duty with 3 flags in the bed. Wanna take a guess what flags? Merican flag, rebel flag, and a gadsden flag (Trump stickers all over the gate to go along with). That thing was pushing out more black smoke than…
That’s the other smart thing that PHX does to move people through really quickly - the sniffer dogs that give you a smell, then you essentially get pre-check treatment. They aren’t out all the time though - I’ve only seen them at super busy times of the year (Thanksgiving and Christmas) when the throughput is high.
Pre-check is still great at my home airport PHX (which admittedly has lots of leisure travelers who don’t bother to sign up).
what celebrity can’t afford a bizjet charter for domestic travel?
Nope, this is indeed for commercial passengers. There are already other private terminals at LAX for completely private jets.
Orlando is a major hub for Southwest, so of course you’re going to find cheap flights on Southwest there.
I’ve lived and worked overseas since 2009 and I fly a lot. I’ve flown hundreds of flights on dozens of carriers. The prices for foreign carriers is comparable and the service is infinity times better. Nobody ever gets kicked off foreign airlines. Ever.
Tunneling isn’t rocketry. It’s a well-developed technology that is used all over the world, at scales exponentially greater than space launches. It’s not that tunneling is especially technically challenging (humans have been doing it for hundreds of years) or is ripe for “disruption”. It’s just that boring through…
I’m sure, like on the Hyperloop, he assumes tunneling is basically free!
Current transportation tunnels in California (such as the subways in the Bay Area and LA) do absolutely fine in earthquakes. In fact, they are considered some of the safest places to be during a quake.
As with his wildly underestimated costs for the mythical hyperloop (not just the tube itself, but the pylons he wants to put them on, which he priced out at 1/10 what actual pylons cost), Musk seriously underestimates how much tunneling costs.
