Particularly considering what a dive-bomb UA’s market cap took in the wake of that travesty

One of my best friends is fostering (in the process of fully adopting) 2 little boys who are brothers, age 2 and 3. They have been in his house for about 6 months now.

Scientology is really not comparable to Islam, or any other established faith with centuries of history and millions upon millions of followers.

I like the concept of a single-payer, guaranteed care plan too, but I also agree with the idea that a “government takeover of all healthcare” isn’t a good idea. Because they are not the same thing.

Yep, because, you know, being a mother of children trumps (sorry, couldn’t think of another word for it) any kind of legal status.

I remember the local police officer would come to school and teach us about guns. He would show us his, tell us what to do if we ever found a gun (never touch it, and call 911 or tell an adult), describe how they worked, what police did with guns, even go into detail about how the holster worked (I remember that being

Counter theory: he did know, and ordered its use, because one of his military advisors mentioned in passing that MOAB stands for “Mother Of All Bombs”*

I seriously doubt that the airline would have treated a white passenger in that manner.

No, the idea that loose guns are fine as long as they are somewhere in the proximity of a cheap hollow-core front door that has a deadbolt. A brilliant plan that will put the gun safe industry out of business. That will really take care of the problem.

It would be a locked and secured gun, that’s what deadbolts on doors are for.

Thinking that is not something you should be slapping yourself on the back for. Rushing to slap yourself on the back at the expense of the actual details of the event so you can feel superior to people who are innocent and grieving is reprehensible.

Are you saying it would be the victims fault in a robbery?

Why is it my responsibility to make sure someone does not steal my things?

But still, you should know better at that age. Its a gun. That should be a no brainer right there.

You seem to have spent more time coming up with your self-righteous response rather understanding the context of the situation.

Your focus on whether people read the article instead of the LOOSE GUN THAT KILLED A KID is troubling.

No, we don’t treat everything the same. But carelessness is often pretty universal in careless people. That’s why some people’s homes are well-maintained and organized, and other people’s homes are disaster zones.

You didn’t read the article. It was not the family’s gun.
