I’m an idiot, but I feel like this is less of a Switch issue and more of a GameFreak issue. BOTW ran, for the most part, fine, with a much more densely packed world. GameXplain said it runs better in handheld.

I'm not sure about their return policy (I don't buy physical games anymore), but you might be able to just go buy a copy and return the pre-ordered one when it arrives.  Seems reasonable when they promised day 1 delivery and completely failed to deliver.

I don't know about anyone else, but basically I never paid full price for the old PS+ because the memberships were very frequently on sale for half off or more. The service doesn't really have enough, even revamped, for me to pay full price. 

In my case, they refused to honour the warranty on my Elite 2 that had an issue after two months, saying I’d already received a new controller... which I hadn’t... It was all very odd. Managed to fix it myself thankfully.
