It’s actually not too bad. The OG attachment on the cable side is plastic, so it just crumbled when being removed because it’s old. The trickier part on that is going to be getting behind the dash to attach it because it’s an old school mechanical type.

The cable broke when doing a clutch a couple of years ago. Have a new one, just haven’t installed it yet.

As long as the tach revs to a glorious 8600 rpms, why would you want to look at the speedometer?
