The top tier F1 teams have traditionally spent well into the 9-figures for a season long budget.

Will they also require teams to stop referring to the “option” and “prime” tires, which seem to be apropos nothing?

Five tire types will be used throughout the year from C1 (hardest) through C5 (softest). Of these 5, Three adjacent compounds will be available at each race, named the “hard,” “medium,” or “soft” tire for that event.

If there were ever proof of the axiom that “if it exists, Formula 1 fans will complain about it”, this is it. They’ve literally done exactly what people have asked in simplifying the presentation of the tires, and of course we have to be upset about the behind the scenes nomenclature now.

Actually, Lauda was pretty much disinherited by his family for wanting to race. He raised a bank loan to buy his seat at March, and then a second one to buy himself out and into BRM.

AFAIK Lewis’ dad wasn’t “wealthy” initially.

Full disclosure, I don’t know much about Lance, neither as person nor as a driver, so much of what I’m about to write is speculations with regards to him specifically...

At the height of the KKK’s power the state with the largest number of members was Ohio. Ohio, Indiana, and (surprise but not really) Missouri all had higher membership numbers than any state in the former Confederacy. Pennsyltucky is up there alongside Mississippi, Alabama, East Oregon, and Northern Idaho when it

Ohio is an extension of the south, bordering kentucky and west virginia after all

So few compete?! There's over 350 vehicles each year!

Like my grandmother used to say: Unless you’re a Pilgrim, this country wasn’t made for you.

We will never be the “good guy with a gun.” The 2nd amendment was never written “for us” it was written to protect “them” from “us.”

He is the man no less than Fernando Alonso called “the best of us all.” Lewis Hamilton himself said just before this season that “he’s better than three quarters of the grid. He’s one of the top five drivers in F1 and he’s not even here.”

You might not want to see him finish out his racing career getting lapped, but he is a racer. I’m sure he will be happy to get a seat in one of the world’s fastest cars. It's far more compelling racing competitors than putting in clinical laps.

The lack of commentary makes the clip so much more real and raw. Absolutely unbelievable he survived this. Sad to say, we probably have Messrs. Senna and Ratzenberger to thank for that...

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again - I always thought Kubica was the best of that bunch of up-and-coming drivers, and yes, I am including Lord Hamilton. Watch the 2006 Italian and Chinese races as demonstrations of his race craft. There are not a lot of drivers who can cleanly race wheel-to-wheel

I was an RK fan and was crushed when he had that accident. It didn’t look like there was any way he was going to survive that.

Jeezus... I haven’t seen a video of that crash in a long time, I almost forgot how violent it was. I remember watching it with my dad, and we both thought for sure that we’d just witnessed our favorite driver die right there on live TV. For some reason, I’m still troubled by the fact that you can see his feet hanging

If you know anything about the antics of Senior here, you’d stop dead in your tracks inferring they are both dicks.
