@Bs Baldwin: Probably because people feel they are superior to Mets Fans.

@i ♥ Tofu: That's a clever idea. However, most parking garages for malls are free and don't have tickets. Also, if we were going to do it your way, the password could easily be a 4 digit pin you come up with yourself.

@philselmer: Haha yes, that's the way it is and should be. Doesn't alleviate the privacy concerns though - we're back to square one.

@MaximKat: How does the password or whatever get chosen?

@Skydog: Problem is, where do you opt-in? It would be far to expensive to add a hardware opt-in button for every space in the garage.

@ReaperCushions: Hahaha I would love to see this go to court. I'll bet the mall could actually get sued for providing the public information that got the BF in the car. I don't know how it would hold in court - would be interesting.

@acquitted2000: Not quite - in this example, since things are being automated, you can check on the current status of a license plate via a mobile kiosk that anyone can access. You might be able to ask a security guy at Boston Logan to see if/where your homie is parked but there's a good chance he'll say no or will be

@Jason Guerra: The technology at it's core certainly uses OCR but the idea of tracking and archiving cars in individual spots is the new bit that people are getting scared of. The bit that lets other people look up your license to see if you're at the mall. Still not a reason to be concerned about privacy IMHO.

@ekhudson: Makes total sense, if you two didn't clear it up for me I was going to dig a bit in the original and see what I could learn - thanks for saving me the work :)

@Zubieta: Naw, I don't think so "While waiting at her safe house before a planned holiday attack..."

It seems idiotic to rig the bomb to a personal cell phone??? Or was this a throwaway and the new years text came from a wrong number - that would make sense.

@Habboi: The decision was made to host the back touch panel - not for piracy reasons. Still plenty of ways to pirate digitally :)

@Habboi: Batteries die, inevitably. A user serviceable battery means you can just order a battery and slap it in yourself. This means you need to send you whole PSP into Sony to get replaced. A user serviceable battery also allows for batteries to be upgraded with inductive charging solutions.

@Chip Skylark of Space: Same name here in 2011 they just can't put it on the box and we have Walmarts.

@pettiblay: A stupid accident nonetheless.
