I guess The Wire comparisons come mainly from the fact that at least in the early years the creators were much more interested in showing a vaguely authentic depiction of the goings on in a police station, rather than fudging it. This was a Christmas Repeat Special when I was growing up in the UK. I remember enjoying it a lot, though I strongly suspect it will be an old-school kid's movie. I seem to remember it had some pretty tense moments for a kid under 10?

It's the offcuts from Kid A, isn't it? Or at least, a consciously different aspect of the music they turned out in the Kid A sessions.
