I swear to god I need to play this series, I've fallen so far behind after missing out on the first and every time I pick it up I just can't seem to enjoy it. Should I just skip ahead?

I should've been clearer on this. Swiping up from my right hand towards the face buttons makes sense. I have full range of motion and can quickly hit all four.
