This so much, I feel like when... especially vocal and negative conversations between some feminists and those they feel aren't hitting the right tone or exactly the right idea, it alienates them, and turns those who could be very thoughtful, empathetic allies, into enemies.

You said what I said in my reply but much more eloquently. Exactly this.

I think it's kinda like the philosphical equivalent of posting "first" in a youtube video

Now playing

Whatever, man. He's a male public figure who's using his fame as a platform to talk about/promote gender equality, a thing he really believes in. His whole show conveyed the earnest and sincere sentiment of "Listen, (male) guys, feminism is a legitimate thing". Like this dude:

Last time I checked, being a feminist is about the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men. It says nothing about it being a girls club or anything like that

Just imagine if all black athletes refused to play for racist fans, owners and institutions. Just about every major sports league would crumble to the ground and we might finally have found our solution to ending racism.

Geeze-us. Your friend visits all the time, right?

Yeah, I met a couple of people who were so shocked & I'm like

Shirley Manson is that person on your friends list who vaguebooks. Ugh.

There is nothing anachronistic, stupid, or weird about a root beer float. You shut your mouth.

I have a feeling the missing pieces of this Naomi-Cara story are a couple big, fat lines of cocaine.

The DJ at the party confirmed the fight

I don't call 911. It's my right as a free American to choke to death on a piece of steak in my home. My grandfather didn't fight in Korea for nothing. <bald eagle cries, flag waves in the breeze>

I agree. She's a little too thirsty.

Reality check, please. I am a female and sensative to this kind of stuff too (the REAL stuff: second wave feminism). Yes: we start small, "grass roots" activism and awareness is impportant, but — are you kidding me — you think that this shit is going to add up to some kind of relevant ....anything? It's fucking HAIR!

It was seen as derivative to the people he was inspired by, yes, but that is not my point. Fashion has always traded on the influence of so-called "street-style" and "low" culture. And the conversation often goes back and forth, with street culture influencing high, and then vice versa, and on and on (with the dawn

That's what I don't understand, when did any reference to another culture/style become some sort of racist appropriation? And hasn't high fashion always done this? Marc Jacobs controversial grunge Perry Ellis collection was a reference to "low" culture of the time. Is all cross-cultural exchange now forbidden? It's

As a white person I'm so bored of this whole appropriation shtick, this doesn't even make sense. I personally do not take it seriously, I hope other people don't either. Imagine if you let bloggers decide what looks to give your models, or what kind of art you're allowed to design? It all boils down to censorship,
