Well, I do have a culinary degree. Properly making a turkey burger so that it's something delicious and edible - and safe - isn't that much of a challenge for me.

I just find it weird that people who go vegetarian or vegan are always seeking meat substitutes, rather than working with the plethora of options available to them.

Oh, god, how terrible. 44 is just entirely too young. My condolences to Lisa's loved ones.

I should clarify that Bourdain's book is actually very sympathetic to her as a fellow cook, and does go into just that detail. She didn't act out of malice at all - but she didn't take responsibility, either.

Not unless you know of another meaning for "beans on toast".

Irish food is pretty good. Nothing fancy, but using fresh ingredients always made for a more than decent meal. Even if one of the cooks did laugh at me for mistaking mushy peas for guacamole and making what must have been a pretty funny face upon discovery.

Me neither. I read Anthony Bourdain's book on Mary Mallon and he quite explicitly stated that she'd had it explained to her more than once by health officials but just refused to change her ways because she wouldn't believe anyone.

A full Irish breakfast is really hard to beat, too.

I freaked out when I found a cicada in my hair on Sunday and made my dad get rid of it because I didn't want it touching me anymore. I'm just weirdly okay with bees.

Carpenter bees are big and fuzzy and only sting if you actively provoke them. And even then, it's only the female bees who can sting you.

It's not just on screen, either. I've definitely gotten dramatic haircuts at various points in my life.

I'm so damn excited. And Gal Gadot seems pretty excited, too.

I went to a screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was run by a different company, but yeah, they more or less allowed more people to sign up than they had available seats. My friend went to the theater early and I joined her there. We made the cut-off by about 25 people.

No hard feelings, man. I do sort of understand where you're coming from.

First, because we're literally guaranteed the right to vote in the U.S. Constitution - it's not like driving, which is a privilege that can be taken away if you prove yourself incompetent. You can't just arbitrarily cut off someone's right to vote based on age. I know a lady who's older than my grandma by almost a

Fair point.

I love my grandma, but she's always been very conservative.

Jesus, even W could speak Spanish pretty well!

You take that back. Saul Goodman has a moral compass!

My grandma does have dementia and proudly voted for Trump. She was absolutely gleeful at his election. So…it checks out.
