Yes, it's shocking how often I still hear people talk about astrology at work. I have a hard time keeping a straight face.

I can understand why people bristle at that comparison, though. It's semantic more than anything else.

Wow, really? To me it has that South Park / Family Guy / Robot Chicken problem where all the voices sound exactly the same (because they're mostly the same person).

Those glasses look photoshopped, somehow.

I certainly agree with you! But I always felt that the oppressive thought-control was the central theme of the novel.

The Double certainly owes a lot to that type of retro-futuristic dystopian setting (also Brazil), but it doesn't share any of the themes of 1984. Not even close, actually.

I can't be the only one annoyed by the assumption that the most important part of Orwell's dystopian vision was the pervasive surveillance. That was only one aspect of the government's control in the novel.

That's the best kind.

Speaking of funny names, during Teddy Bridgewater's first game (when Cassel got injured), the announcer kept saying that he had been "pressed into duty."

Why, though? They're just marketing tools. I really don't get why people are so worried about the descriptions.

Let's at least wait until the episodes air to assume we know what the characters are like. All this finger-wagging is based off of literally one sentence per character…

I don't think using the term girlish is inherently sexist. The word has a negative meaning because it relates to youth, not gender.

Well… they're just character descriptions. Or are we expecting character descriptions to actually flesh out a character at this point? That's what the fucking show is for.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

I really like that song "Don't Tell 'Em" by Jeremih.

Obviously, this is pretty far down on the list (you know, behind the death and rape threats), but one of the reasons I hate Gamergate is that it has made it virtually impossible to have an actual discussion about someone like Sarkeesian.

As someone with absolutely outrageous eyebrows, I love me some eyebrow analysis.

Hey, remember that time when Billy Eichner yelled at people? That was so funny!

I guess I should clarify. That description really only applies to their first album (musically at least). The second album is something completely different and confusing and it's only similar to the Blood Brothers because of the screechy vocals.
