I would say a good portion is due to Remote Control Studios, aka Hans Zimmer’s clone factory.

To be fair, I PREFER the new stuff Henry Jackman added and I don’t think those moments in the elevator or the SHIELD escape would be good moments to use the old CA theme, even shifted into minor key.

Actually the motif from TFA is played in various ways in The Avengers, CA: WS, and AoU. I can’t remember about Civil War

I still like the score quite a bit, but it’s definitely more of an espionage thriller score (as the film itself was). They definitely hit the Captain America theme though at the exact, perfect time twice in the film (the opening and during the visit to his boot camp).

I think the first two Captain America movies had good music. I can hum the “Star-spangled Man with the Plan” in my sleep, while Winter Soldier’s “Take a Stand” music is something that got stuck in my head and I can hum along with.

Singer’s X-Men movies are bad because they’re these really weak on-the-nose allegories to homophobia, which is all well and good, but it’s done at the expense of literally every other theme the X-Men have approached, like race and coming of age. Seriously, characters like Shadowcat and Jubilee approach their mutant…

Did you ever play XMen vs Street Fighter? Her throw attack was a kiss that let her temporarily steal the move sets of the opposing character. I remember thinking that was pretty inventive of a 2D fighter at the time.
